Was looking at the Entertainment schedule for Sept and realized it's not just the Firewoks but also Fantasmic that's limited to weekends.Since we arrive on Sunday we have just that one day to catch both shows :

Fantasmic showtimes are 9:05 pm and 10:30 pm

Fireworks are at 9:30 pm

Is it possible to see fantasmic and fireworks back to back ( 9:05 Fantasmic and then 9:30 Fireworks) ? The 10:30 Fantasmic show may be too late for my 3.5 year old so we have to catch the earlier show.

I would hate to miss watching Fantasmic :(

Please let me know the best strategy to catch both Fantasmic and Fireworks on the same day .

Its possible .. if you’re a marathon runner! Ha ha just kidding

My stragedy is go see fireworks first and then do the 10:30pm showing of F! whu? Less crowded after firework crowd has left!

We're in the same position as you. We have a 4 year old and 20 month old. We are going to aim for the fireworks first and then the late show of Fantasmic. But if there are melt downs, then we may miss both:sad2:
But, both my kids proved on our trip last year they can fall asleep anywhere and anytime- DS slept through the entire PotC and DD fell asleep in the stroller while sitting on the back.
It may be rough but we all want to see it and we only have the one night to try both. Hopefully we'll get some good tips;)

yeah this is pretty standard I think. The early F! is so crowded. We watched the early F! once then stayed by RoA and watched the fireworks. It's definitely not as good as being in the Hub. Im not sure you can make it back to the Hub to get a good spot because there's only a few minutes I think between the end of F! and the start of the fireworks.

I know that Fantasmic! has a designated place for the show, but is there a "good" viewing area for the fireworks where you can see them better ? How far is it from the Fantasmic! show ?

That is what I do. Depending on how busy the park is kinda determines what kinda of F! view you get. That is where preferred viewing can help out.

You could do the opposite, view 9pm F! and then stay put and watch the fireworks from NOS. However, IMO it is not the same as being in front of the castle.

I thnk our posts posted at the same time - I just asked that question :)

So Fireworks are better at the HUB. since I am a first timer I have to ask - how far is the Hub from the fantasmic show ? How many minutes walk

Raindown :
I was curious about the preferred viewing option. Have to tried it out ?
Is it worth for the later show ? There is no way I can get DS to stay put in one place for a long time to save a spot for a show.

Are you arriving in Sept as well ?

DS is a light sleeper and cannot sleep when there is too much happening around and too many distractions ( scratch that - ANY distractions). But he gets all irritable and fussy bcos hes tired but doesnt want to sleep yet :(

Hub is the circular area infront of the castle. Its only a couple of minutes to walk there from RoA but its PACKED. some people say they can get a good spot to view the fireworks a few minutes before they start. That has not been my experience. However, the fireworks now start at 9:30 instead of 9:25 so that gives you an extra 5 minutes.

The fireworks are definitely better in the Hub. Depends on when in Sept you are going. If its early and its Magical, there's Dumbo and Tinkerbell flying from the Matterhorn as well as a bunch of castle effects and fireworks. If its later in Sept then its Remember and for that you really need to be in the Hub because there's so much stuff that happens there that you will really miss out if you watch from RoA.

I strongly suggest Fireworks then late F! show. It is so much easier and you can get excellent viewing for both

the hub is the partners statue. and its better to just do fireworks first and fantasmic becuase your better off getting abetter spot for F! then fireworks. at least IMHO it is!

Is the Castle / HUB the same place ?

For fireworks purposes, yes.

This is a tricky question. There is the F! preferred viewing: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/fantasmic/

See the premium viewing paragraph. There still is a bit of line standing to 'check in' for the preferred viewing (picking your seats). It does give you reserved seats though, some sweets and a little food, and a great view. That all say I only really go to the land with other adults so I don't have any experience with kids. It is pricey, about 59ish for adults and like 49 for kids.

NOTE: Check the entertainment schedule. If you going in Sept. there is a part where fireworks don't show and then go only weekends.

WOW - those prices are kindof steep !! Do we really need to get the "snack / dessert box" for a 3.5 year old too ? Premium viewing says " Reserved seating is first come, first served, so get there early! " How early do we need to get there for premium viewing ?

What is the Premium Viewing arrangement like ? is it standing space or do we get chairs to sit on ?

It's quite easy ~ just see the 2nd F! - July of 2009 we saw the Electrical Parade, fireworks and F! in one night - you could read about that *here* if you'd like.

Do you need it, No. It is a luxury. I have found good viewing just heading over after the fireworks. The premium viewing is chairs. Once you pick you seats they are reversed.

We were there last weekend. The hub is not that faraway from the Rivers of America, but with the exiting crowds to content with it makes it hard to get from Fantasmic! to ideal fireworks viewing areas. You would probably make it in time to see at least part of the show, but it is likely that you would miss the start. As other posters have said, fireworks at 9:30 and then Fantasmic at 10:30 is a much easier option.

With a small child, I would say you should pick the one you want to see more and plan for that. If Fantasmic if your main goal, then see it at 9:05 and afterwords, see if you can make it to the fireworks. If your main interest is fireworks, then start there and aim for the 10:30 pm Fantasmic.

That sums it up nicely.

We used to do that too. Those were my favorite nights. I want to do fireworks, F! and 11:15 Woc. Our last day is Friday we might try it then.
