Fantasmic! FASTPASS Testing-NOW (April 22-27)

A step in the right direction. It would still be necessary to get to the theater say 30 minutes in advance (of show time) but at least it would not be necessary to get there two hours in advance.

April 22 thru 27 Disney is testing Fantasmic! FastPasses.
(testing how the operation of Fantasmic! will handle fastpass+)

1. This fastpass+ test will not require RFID tickets and will not use RFID touch points.

2. Fastpass tickets will be given out inside the park at noon or maybe earlier.
Location of distribution will be near the Tip Board at the junction of Hollywood and Sunset Blvds.
Holding a FP for Fantasmic! will not prevent obtaining another FP for another attraction.

3. Dining package will still have separate reserved sections.
FP and Standby Guests will sit intermixed in the rest of the theater.
FP guests will be given priority over Standby guests for entry as the theater fills.

One thing to update I may have not made clear enough, the red line you have for DP will actually be the Stand-By entrance, with DP and FP going the same direction. DP seating will be Scar to Ursula.

How perfect. We leave on Wednesday. Gotta try to FP Fantasmic. Will post pics of the tickets if I get my hands on them.pirate:

Ifmitnhas FP what is the point of DP? Would it be reasonable to think the DP will be phased out. Hmm...we go in November and will be interesting to see if I need my DP package or not...it shifts where I eat dinner ;)

Great maps as usual! Thanks. I like the idea of the FP. We tend to go to the second show, don't go at all, or do the dining package. Now I have another option. I wonder if this will cut down on the number of F! dining packages sold.

Stipulating we do not know how it'll all work yet: if FP has priority for entering, but not in a separate section, it seems that they will have to put a hold on Standby until/at a certain point in time?

Yikes. Seems like separate section for FP with actual capacity already determined would have been better approach.

This creates the need to be in a SB line or enter even earlier if you do not have a FP.

So its just a separate entrance? If it's not reserved seating what's the point? If you try to "save" time and come in 15 minutes b4 it starts-the standby will have filled the entire middle same as always? Unless they think it will just be 75% or more FP+ I guess you couldn't reserve.

Ha sorry Helen-beat me to it.

1- It does.
2- Correct.
3- Harder to predict and patrol.
(Although they MIGHT do that when the real FP+ comes live.
and, they might NOT, too.)
4- Yup.

It may go the way of WOC and you need a fastpass to enter (no SB). At DCA they still do the dining plan and also have picnic meals for $15 that give you the FP, we were just saying we wished they did these for F! as an alternative to the TS meals

WDW has, in the recent past, offered a "picnic" lunch (boxed dinner) alternative to F! Dining Plan meals that included a F! entrance voucher.
These were available over the busy Christmas and Easter time periods.

Having the standby guests walk past the dining pkg seating seems like trouble to me. There are already so many people sneaking into that section. (Although moving the section over a bit is nice...)

I totally agree.

In my earlier version of the maps, I had the FP and Standby guests walking into the central entrance together.
Since they sit together, why not have them enter together?
(I won't be surprised if they do actually change the entrances to that method.)

You're going to kill me with all the changes they are making.

They actually used Sebastian->Witch for DP tonight. But be advised Scar is a optional sections depending on the number of DP for the night.

One final update. When standby hits the number 11 on the second map, they take a left and merge with with fastpasses at number 3, then they all go into the theater from there.
