We are travelling with a lot of extended family (newbies) and a 7 year old.

Hollywood studious looks consistently a 7or 8 for our whole trip but so far only a 7:30pm Fantasmic show nightly.

DH and I would normally hit the later Fantasmic but with the little one along we probably need to go to the 7:30.

In general is the Fantasmic dinner, where you get the guaranteed seating, a time saver? ⌛

Is there a chance that if we actually line up an hour early that we wont get in. I cant imagine, but we I'm only willing to stand in that line for an hour.

I love Fantasmic & I know the 7 year old will just be in awe.

I really appreciate the thoughts...its been awhile since we have traveled with newbies and a especially with a young child.

I appreciate the help.

We have done it,,,,it is a time saver,,,depends on which restaurant you want if its "worth it"

I would be more worried about the extended family, are they cool lining up an hour early to save the money? Would save about half an hour as dining packages are supposed to arrive like 25 mins before the show. The other advantage of the dining packages is center view.

And just a caution on the newbies- they don’t have kids who might be scared by F! right? Scared the absolute living daylights out of me as a kid. If they do suggest the parent and kids previews it on YouTube, it could turn out only part of the group wants to do F! and then a dining package would really be a bad idea.

I would say no. We didn’t line up that early and still got decent seats and we went during President’s week. It was very crowded

We ate at mama Melrose with the dinning package and enjoyed it. We went Christmas week and it was busy but I think you would have been able to get seats without the dinning package.
