Fantasmic Dinner Pkg Question

We have ADR's at 4:15 for Momma Mel Rosa's for the Fantasmic package. This is the first time we have done the dinner package so it is a bit new. Can anyone explain why the reservations have to be so early? Fantasmic starts at 8:30 and the latest ADR we could get was 4:15. Why do you need 4 hours for this?

Any hints/ideas that I need to know that will help our family out?

All the Fantasmic seatings are early. The restaurants use the FD package to fill their slow times. The latest ADR slot I've ever seen was 5pm for FD.

Correct, the concept was to fill the restaurants during non-peak hours. Thus the trade off is an earlier dinner for priority seating/separate entrance/no fighting lines.

For an 8:30 show, how soon would I need/want to line up for the Package seating? I know I go in through a separate gate and they have the far left 2 sections (facing the stage). Should I plan on 8pm ? Or earlier?

If my memory serves me correctly, we were given instructions/tickets by the restaurant to meet a CM at Oscar's garage approx 1 hr prior to showtime...who in turn took our tickets and led us through the separate entrance.

Btw; once you get into the theatre, you are not obligated to sit in priority seating. The advantage we found with using the FDP is, getting into the theatre early before the crowds and obtaining the best seats.
