Fantasmic Dinner Pkg. Dec. 29: necessary?

I am debating whether to make a PS for the Dinner package for December 29th. There are 2 Fantasmics that night, 8:30 and 10:30pm.

In your expert opinions, should I make the package reservations or will the crowds be manageable due to the 2 showings?

I have two children and prefer not to wait in huge lines.

Fantasmic Dinner Packages are not generally offered during the Holiday season. You might want to call and verify that before you spend too much time worrying about "whether or not".

The dinner packages are a way for Disney to encourage guests to patronize restaurants that otherwise would not fill to capacity. During peak seasons this is not a problem, so the packages are not offered.

We went in the other peak season and we waited about two hours for the show. We are making ressies for a package this time.

That's good news and I'm happy to be wrong about availability. Now that the packages are prepaid, Disney must have decided to go ahead and make them available during the Holidays.

The second showing of Fantasmic is almost always less crowded than the first. That said, I'd still go with the package to ensure a short wait in line, especially if I didn't think the kids could make it to the late showing.

Just called and was told that all 3 restaurants are sold out for that night.

I waited too long to make up my mind.

if i book the package and go to the park that day later in the day and it is closed due to capacity will they charge me a no show fee?? I would love to book this for christmas week if i can still get it but don't want to have to be at a crowded park all day just so i have access to the package??? anyone know?????
