I just booked my Fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melroses, I read that I will get a voucher when we show up. What I would like to know is should I make sure to ask for my voucher or will they automatically have it ready for me when I show up? Has anyone ever had a problem obtaining it?

Our server brought it to us along with our drink order. I don't see an issue asking for it, as you're entitled to it, but they should know in advance and give them to you w/o asking.

EDIT - We went for lunch, and it was hands down the worst meal we had at Disney during our week stay. It was over $150 for my wife and two kids (1 infant so he was free, thankfully), and I couldn't even make myself attempt to eat the flatbread, and spaghetti/meatballs. We left at least 3/4 of our meal on the table. If it's any consolation, the dessert was ok, including my DD's bday cupcake. Oh, and the bread was good.

Hope you have a better experience, but just wanted to let you know what we thought about it.

Thanks for all the info everyone, I'm sorry your experience was bad mugenboy, I hope as you said mine goes better. Im a fan of Italian food I don't like walking away with a bad experience.

We did the fantasmic pkg at Hollywood and Vine. It was the most annoying meal we've had at WDW. Food was on par with 1900 Park Fare. I think it was sing and dine or something - it was all Disney Jr characters. DD was 6, just a little too old for it, and we don't have cable, so she didn't know who most of the characters were anyway.

Anywhoo - Our wonderful server brought our voucher out at the end of the meal, and made sure we knew how important it was to not throw it away as we'd have to present it to get into the Fantasmic preferred seating. I put it somewhere safe, and when we got to the queue for the preferred seating, they didn't even ask to see it. (but I DID have it, in case they did!)

So, don't worry. It wasn't a big deal at all.

We thought about booking this too, but i don't like the dinner choices. So we are eating at Epcot, and then going over to HS afterwards for it. i debated using a FP+ on it, but then heard that they are no longer doing the reserved seating for FP+, just a different line. So now I'm not sure what to do...

I'll be honest, I've never eaten at any of the dinner choices, but have not heard good reviews....My DS would love to see Jake, but I'm resisting because of the shady feedback on H &V, and I don't want to waste a TS on bad food when he can meet Jake in the park...is the food just meh?

I did a fantasmic dinning package earlier this month, also at Mama Melrose. service was terrible but the entree and dessert were fantastic! I got the steak and it was cooked perfectly. It was well worth it for the reserved seating. They have a record that you are doing the package and should bring you your voucher, but if not, feel free to ask!

My husband and I have done the Fantasmic Dining Package at Mama's at least 3 time and they have always just brought us the voucher when they bring us our check. When we check in at the hostess stand, they confirm that we have the Fantasmic Dining Package. Then, when we sit down, the waiter or waitress also usually confirms it, as well. They let us know that we each get an appetizer (unless we opt for the antipasto for two), an entree, and a dessert platter to share. For what it's worth, I know that Mama's gets mixed reviews, but it's never missed with me. I first dined there back in 2005 when I was doing the college program. I worked in the area and the food always smelled so good, so when my family came to visit me, I insisted that they HAD to take me to eat there. It was good then. My husband and I went on our honeymoon in 2007 and we loved it so much that we decided to make it "our place". It was romantic when it was just my husband and me, and a fun family restaurant when I was there with my parents and sister. My husband and I dine there on each visit now and love that we can go there just the two of us or bring along our almost-four-year-old daughter.

Most recently, I had the calamari as an appetizer and my husband had the mussels. I like mine but he wasn't crazy about his. He said that it was hard to get the mussels out of some of their shells. He did love the sauce, though, which was the same sauce they use for the seafood arribbiata, which is one of his favorites. He found it to be excellent for dipping the bread. In the past, we have had the tomato and mozzerella salad and the antipasto for two and have liked both. As I mentioned, my husband loves the seafood arribbiata but decided to step out of his comfort zone and got the steak this time. He loved it. I tried it and had to agree that it was amazing. It practically melted in my mouth. And I am kind of a steak snob (one of the few foods I am actually a snob about). I have loved the chicken campanelle and the mushroom flatbread. Most recently I had the margherita pizza. Personally, it was my least favorite of the thee dishes that I typically have, but it wasn't bad at all. There just wasn't cheese under the tomatoes and I found that odd. The desserts were all good. On our platter, we had the seasonal [anna cotta (it had a mango compote on top), the chocolate cannoli, and the amaretto cheesecake. We argued over whether the cannoli or cheesecake was the best. One time, our waiter bent the rules and actually let us each pick out our own dessert. Anyway, all that to say that we have eaten there a lot and have never been disappointed. Just know what you are getting when you go there. You will not feel like you are dining in a restaurant in Rome. The food won't taste like it, either. But it's good for Americanized versions of Italian dishes. Service won't be speedy, but I like that because it's a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the day. It's nice not to feel rushed. Enjoy!:goodvibes
