Fantasmic dinner package

Would you do Mama Melrose's or Hollywood and Vine? I have three slightly picky boys. Do you think it would be better to do a CS meal or go for the dinner package with reserved seating for Fantasmic?

IMHO, the dining packages are over-priced. I'd just to CS (and probably someplace outside the Studio, which has lousy CS) and get to the Fantasmic theater early enough to be sure of getting a seat.

I can't tell from your post if you are on the DDP or not. We usually are and we always go to Mama Melrose. Separate seating area at Fantasmic if you get the package. Just an FYI, there are usually a limited number of packages for TS Fantasmic Dinner Package so you will have to call very close to your 180 day mark in order to get one.

The Fantasmic package for Hollywood & Vine is not worth it, imo. The food is not good. Go with Mama Melrose, they have pizzas, pastas, meat, I'm sure your boys will find something they'd like
You can look at the menu online to be sure, that's a great way of finding out if there will be something for everybody.

I think it depends if you are on the DDP and when you are going. We saw F! twice in 2009, once with the dining package and once without. We went for Spring Break when F! was only showing twice a week and it was very crowded. We didn't get the dining package and had to get to the theater about 90 minutes before the show to get seats. Our last trip during Thanksgiving we did get the package, but I don't think it was necessary since F! was showing almost every night.

BTW, we ate at MM and didn't like it at all. We had terrible service and my DS is picky too so he ordered the flatbread hoping it would be like pizza but he didn't like it. If we do the package again I think we will try Hollywood and Vine hoping that a buffet will have a lot of different choices.

we tried Hollywood and vine and it was really gross! We will never eat there again. We really like Mama Melrose - the food was really good. we are going again in the summer so I hope it is just as good

Thanks everyone for your advice. As we're on the dining plan I tried to get the dinner package but there is no availability. I decided to go with Hollywood and Vine buffet as there seemed to be more options for the boys. I made a 5:30 dinner reservation so hopefully we will have time to eat and still line up for the 8:30 showing of Fantasmic.

We are going to be at WDW March 15-24 and I thought this would be a nice option for our last night. I just hope it all works out!

We are going the last week of Feb. and plan to bring food in with us... one time we bought fresh fruit from that Annehiem Produce and then bought hot dogs and pretzels in side the stadium and ate while we held our seats.

We did do the package one time at H&V, we don't like buffets that much so we wouldn't do that again.
