Do you have to book a Platnium Magic Your Way Package or can anyone book this dinner package?

Open to any guests with or without Disney Dining Plan. If you do not have the DDP they will ask for a credit card number to hold the reservation and it is subject to a cancellation fee if cancelled within 48 hours. We aren't on the DDP for our upcoming trip but have it booked at the Brown Derby.

I'm glad someone asked this! I was going to ask the same question.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone think this will be necessary in the middle of October or should we just try our luck getting a seat the normal way?

Not worth the $$. You can get a better seat if you line up early. The reserved seats are off to the right side of the stage. We found it alot of fun standing in line getting to know those around us.

It really depends on which night you go to Fantasmic. Honestly I like the seats in the back, but we have two young kids and keeping them seated, entertained, and happy while the audience loads may be too much for me. Sometimes it can be an hour of sitting if you get there first. I decided this time since we wanted to eat at Brown Derby anyhow we could do 25-30 minutes in the stands versus an hour.

We had the package and ended up not sitting in the section. Like the PP stated, the area is off to the side. We found better seats center of the arena with no issues.

Even with the DDP they still want a CC number. We have done it several times both with DDP and without and have had to give CC numbet each time.

Also, there is a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you don't show up or cancel within the 48 hours, they charge your cc $10 per person.

We did the package thing in September of last year. About 15 minutes before the show started, they opened the "reserved" area up to everyone, so we ended up sitting with people who just walked in at the last minute and sat down next to us.

Depending on the time of year, reserved seating may not be necessary. On the other hand, the year before we were there in November (Non-Thanksgiving week) and people were lined up almost to the front entrance of the park an hour before the show. I couldn't understand what the line was for, so I asked and was more than a little surprised to find out it was for Fantasmic. So, we skipped it.

And, sort of off topic, we ate at Hollywood and Vine last year. I thought it was just so-so. My wife hated it. But that's just our opinion. I'm sure others like the food and the atmosphere.

We're doing it (again) this year, but we have free dining (never done that before!!) We like the seats offered and we like having a little more time in the park and a little less time in line. I think its all personal preference. We're doing H&V (we like it). They asked for a CC even with the dining plan. Doesn't bother us, we're just happy to be going!!!
