Fantasmic: Dinner Package vs FastPass?

Pros and Cons of each, other than one is free? We're planning to book dinner anyway and we don't really need to use the Fast Pass for anything else because we're only going for dinner and Fantasmic. Does one have better seats than the other? Does one "hold" the seats longer than the other (i.e. do they get released to general admission after a certain time?). Thanks!

IMHO- don't waste a FP+ on Fant! There are so few attractions left at Studios, you pretty much need a FP+ for anything ride wise. If you're going to be doing dinner regardless, book a dinner package to get the preferred seating (which is- or used to be- basically front row center). In slow times. I've had Fant! Come up as a FP+ show option as the 4th choice they add on now, so that is an option as well. That theater is so huge, unless you're going during a super busy time, you should get a seat if you have a package, FP+ or just "walk in".

Dinner package has better seats, but you also get wetter I think because you're in the front 2 rows. But it's better than using a FP on

We got FP for the second show as our fourth pass that day. We'd already done everything we wanted to do, so we figured a guaranteed seat would be better than letting the fourth pass go to waste. We were slightly to the left of center in about the fourth row. Definitely got wet from there!
