Fantasmic Dinner Package - Should you order the most expensive items?

Second question: "If it's a fixed price, does it make sense to order the most expensive items on the menu?" The answer is an unequivocal yes. A clear question with a clear answer.
Not in a mean way... You are asking if it makes sense to order the most expensive thing... it is NOT unequivocally yes... you may find value in this not everyone does... Some book the package for the seats and seating area.. some book the package to order the most expensive thing and pay less and not go to the show at all and some book it to go to the show and get the most expensive thing.... you asked for opinions in the second part of the question and that is what you got... everyone has a different opinion and everyone finds value in a different way. In the future you can email Disney direct about any product they offer or if they do not offer it from food to plush to cigars... they respond quickly and they will let you know any details you are interested in including price exclusions and where it is sold...

if the answer was so clear and unequivocal why did you ask it in the first place? surely you are smart enough to figure that out on your own ;) usually when people post questions, it's not with answers they already know... they are looking for opinions on the grey areas and things that maybe they didn't think of themselves. I'm pretty sure anyone who can figure out how to post on the DIS gets the concept that if you are paying a fixed price for something, the way to maximize your pure dollar value is to order the most expensive thing on the menu. That said, many of us here do not prioritize full dollar value over everything else and the extent to which people do or do not and why is interesting discussion fodder... which after all, is the whole point of a discussion board.

I didn't know. Read what I wrote: "Is it a fixed price or does it depend on what you order? If it's a fixed price, does it make sense to order the most expensive items on the menu?" That's all I asked. Nowhere in my question was there anything about force-feeding yourself an expensive item against your will. You read into that. My question was crystal clear.

I was only inquiring about possible exceptions to the policy. For example, premium seats at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue aren't covered by the dining plan. Perhaps there are some menu items not covered by the package? Apparently not.

if that was truly what your question was, why didn't you ask it? you can't berate a group of people for answering the question that you asked and not the one you REALLY had in mind.

We usually get the Fantasmic! package then bail on the show. This is the first trip in years I haven't booked it because it is a short trip. My DH and I usually get the filet and an app anyway so the price difference isn't that great. If we see the show, fine, if we are tired or the weather less than ideal, we leave. We are long past forcing ourselves to watch it because we paid for it. However, we do love handing the vouchers out on the boat launch. It is a little bit of pixie dust that is worth the extra few dollars.pixiedust:

Because I didn't know the answer.

I expected an answer to the question that was asked, not a hallucination of what was asked.
