Fantasmic Dinner package question?

This will be our 3rd trip to WDW. For the Fantasmic Dinner show with the 3 restaurants that have this package dinner, the only times for dinner with the 9pm show are between 4-5. We simply are not hungry for dinner at that time, is there anyway around this? Can we do this and only eat appetizers? or is there a certain package dinner menu? Also, if we just made later dinner reservations without the package, will they give us tickets for the seating at the dinner? I need help, trying to figure out a way to bypass the huge line and go to a later dinner and not have to eat bt 4-5pm.

No, there's no way around the timing.

I would guess that you could eat only appetizers, but you will be paying a fixed price whether you order the entrees and desserts or not. Hollywood & Vine is a buffet, so you could eat as much or as little as you want there.

No, they will not give you preferred seating passes unless you have specifically booked the Fantasmic Dining Package.

You could instead go for the *earliest* package time available (usually after 3 pm), then call it lunch and eat a light QS dinner.

Thanks for the responses. We are going to go the 3rd week of June, if we dont do the dinner package, how long will the wait be to enter fantasmic? In the past we always did the dinner package but found the timing for dinner not to be the best that early.

We are going in June and called exactly 180 days out and booked a dinner at 4:55. Apparently that is the latest dinner that can be booked. We aren't planning on eating lunch that day, just a few snacks.

This really depends on the crowds but generally that time of year with no reservation you will need to be in line 60-90 minutes before show time (45-60 if you don't care where you sit and do not have a large party that want sto sit together, 30 min or less and you will probably be standing or not get in at all) the theater should be open around 2 hours before the show (if there is only one show). Since the F! shows are not nightly anymore the crowds can be large but also vary from week to week. Some people are just not willing to wait for F! in those types of crowds and others plan thier HS days around F! nights so HS in general will be busier on that day.

Although the dinners are early we won't stand in those type of lines for F! it's one of my favorite and I've seen the show several times so I can't justify waiting that long for seeing it again.
