Hey all, I am a newbie  and trying hard to get ALL this info into my head. The latest thing I've ran into is the Fantasmic Dinner Package. We were planning on going to MGM on an EMH evening. Anyone have any comments about the dinner package... Early show or late show, (we'll be there on a Sunday night)... Is the package worth it...Which restaurant...

It will be myself, my DH, DD 5, and DS 2.

Any advice at all on this topic would be greatly appreciated!

Ooops, forgot one more question...actually I probably have even more...they keep popping into my head...at random times throughout the day...I am going Disney crazy...Any other Newbies losing their minds? :rotfl:

Oh yeah, back to my question: Any idea how soon these packages sell out?

Just back from Disney this week..... From what I could gather, the Fantasmic Dinner Packages book up quite quickly, although they will sometimes release more times about 3 weeks before the date. I had a bit of a hard time booking a Fantasmic Dinner Package, had to call 3 times, but at last a spot opened up (right around 3 weeks prior to the night we were planning to visit MGM). We went to the Hollywood & Vine and were pleased with the selection and service - no complaints!

I could be wrong, but I believe that if you book the FDP then it's only good for the early show - anyone else out there please correct me if this is not true.

I asked and was told it was good for any show on my night. It could have something to do with that date (Dec 31), but I can't say for sure.

When I got my ADR for H&V a few days ago, I had asked the very nice lady on the other end if there was gonna be a second show so that I could decide on a good time to eat. I was told that I have to go to the early show with the voucher thingy. and that's when she mentioned that. So I made sure my ADR gave me lots of time from one to the other (I'm a late eater for supper)

The question is first are there 2 shows on the night you are going or only one OP did not say. Depending on the time of year I would not bother with the Dinner Package.

Good question OP. I'm wondering how crazy MGM will be on EMH night. I have a Fantasmic package booked because I thought the place would be packed because of EMH. SO I was curious to see your responses but so far no one has really addressed the EMH crowds and how they might affect Fantasmic show.

I'm also going on a Sunday night with 2 shows. I do know, however, that the package is only good for the first show unless there's a special circumstance like New Year's Eve.

I would still do the package even if it is 2 shows. All three restuarants are very good. We have done H&V several times especially with a group, we have recently done Brown Derby and loved it and are going back in a few weeks. I have not done Mama melrose in a long time but I did like it. Generally the second show is less crowded , but if you did the first show with reserved seating just think how many rides you can do during the second show!! I always think it is well worth it. Give it a shot!!! ::MinnieMo :wizard:

The Fantasmic Dinner Package is great and well worth it. Takes all the stress out of worrying about getting there early for a seat. We were there un late August, ate at H&V (buffet was great for kids and DW). we showed up 20 mins before show time, they wisk you through a secret back entrance right to your seating area.

Well worth it.

I was told the same.

Thanks all. If the dinner package is only good for the early show I don't think it will fit into our schedule. We've got a late lunch with some princesses which is more important to my 5 year old DD. And we'll need a bit of a break in between if we are staying late at the MGM or the day will just be too long for DD and SS who is 2...not to mention me! I guess we'll just have to hope for the best for getting into the later show.

So bummed....Oh well, better focus on all the fabulous things we get to do instead of this bump on the road.
