Fantasmic Dinner package?? Help

I don't know if it is worth it but we are doing it for the first time on our trip next month. Yes..it is covered on dining plan. But the Brown Derby is 2 ts credits from what I remember. We are doing Mama Melrose.

Mama Melrose is open if I want to do early afternoon, or brown derby if I want to do late afternoon. Decisions decisions lol

What sealed it for us is that we liked the menu at Mama Melrose better. Never eaten there before so we figured we would do it. Never been to Fantasmic either...lots of firsts for our trip. :-)

It's worth it if you don't want to wait in the standby line or use a FP for F!

It's also no additional dining credit cost if on the DDP.

I used it for Jedi Mickey's at H&V during SWW. With tip it was $200 for two adults and one kid. We had fun, the food was better than I expected and we didn't have to wait in line. It was worth it once. I don't think I'll do it again.

Fantasmic package is a three course meal at Brown Derby & Mama Melrose. Therefore if you are on the regular dining plan you gain free appetizers and reserved F! seating making the package very very worthwhile.

If you are paying cash, then compare the set price of the package against what you would pay ordering from the menu and make a decision. For example Mama Melrose is $37.99 for the package and an average three course meal would be $36-45 depending what is ordered, so the package looks a good price. At Brown Derby the package is $56.99 but an average meal would be $48-$67, so this is only really worthwhile if you order steak or lamb as a main.

If you are on the regular dining plan if is definitely "worth it"...you will get an appetizer, entrée, dessert, and non-specialty drink for the package even on the regular plan. You also don't have to line up super early for Fantasmic or use a fast pass + on it.

Yes, worth it. We did the package at both Mama Melrose and Brown Derby on different trips. Both meals were good. The Mama Melrose meal was covered under the dining plan.

A must do for us. We like the show and Mama Melrose. When DS was little our favorite way to do it was to have a mid-afternoon ADR at MM and then head back to the room for a rest and return to the park in time to grab CS to take into the show to eat. This is especially nice when the park has PM EMH because huge amounts of people leave after the show and we go back into the park for a few more rides.

Yes it is worth it especially since they moved the reserved seating toward the middle. It used to be so far right it was a why bother.

We prefer the food at the BD but we pay OOP.

It has been worth it to us. We've done it three times: MM once, H&V twice. Food was good the first time, not so good the second time. The second time was also Star Wars week, so it was a character meal & even more expensive. DH got to have his picture with Darth Goofy, but it wasn't worth $300, IMO. I'm sure he'll want to do it again, so we'll probably do MM next time. I think I would like Brown Derby, but I don't think DH & DD would. Since it's 2 credits, probably a no go for us.

We have never done it, but that's mainly because the restaurant options don't appeal to us. It's not necessary to have it to still get good seats for the show, but if you do like one of the restaurants included it's a good use of a dining plan credit.
