Fantasmic dinner package: fixed price? How much is it?

The info I read on the board is a bit confusing. Hope someone can help me out here.
I'd like to book the Fantasmic dinner package since I will be at DHS on an EMH night. Now..on the Disney website it doesn't say anything about a fixed price so I figured I just order whatever I want from the menu, pay for it and get the Fantasmic reserved seating as a "bonus".
Here on the board I keep reading threads stating there is a fixed price for the package, which includes app, entree and dessert at the chosen restaurant.

How exactly does the package work?
I'm particularly interested in dinner @ the Hollywood Brown Derby. Any info on how much the package is or do I just pay for whatever I order?

You can't just book an ADR and pay extra for the fantasmic seating. You have to book a Fantasmic Dining Package and select which restaurant you want to dine at (lunch or dinner). This is a very important distinction!

This link explains the F. package and pricing:

And you should do it as soon as you know your dates, since there is limited availability and ADRs go very fast. Hope this helps.

Yes it is a fixed price which includes appetizer, entree, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage. It also includes a voucher for reserved seating for the Fantasmic show (the first show only, if it is being shown twice on the day you are attending).

I know that I have to book the Fantasmic package if making an ADR...the problem is that the Disney website doesn't say how much the package is. I just get a choice of times for my Fantasmic package ADR when I enter the date but it doesn't say anything about the price.
Thanks for your link, now I at least have an idea about how much it will be :thumbsup2

You'll be going during the regular season so your fixed price will be the less expensive of the 2 listed on wdwinfo. According to Josh at easywdw who did an in depth review of Fantasmic and the dining package last week, the exact price for HBD is $50.05 for adults and $12.77 for children during your time frame.

We did the Fantasmic dining package at HBD in October. The salmon was excellent. We had to try the 2 iconic items - the Cobb Salad (my husband liked it, my daughter not so much - she felt the extremely fine chop of the ingredients caused them to lose their individuality and blend into mush) and the GrapefruitCcake which none of us cared for because the sweet/tart flavor didn't jell together.)

Do I have a reserved seat?

No, only the section itself is reserved for those with the Dining Experience. Within the reserved section, seating is on a first come-first served basis, so if you want your choice of seats, you should arrive early.

So my take on this is that the section is only reserved not specific seats. Also on another thread someone had indicated that 30 min prior to the show if they are packed they start letting other people into the "reserved" section.

How far in advance can you book this? Because I was online at 6am the day my ADR window opened and there was no availability for the entire month of June. Is that really how popular it is, or did the window to book just not open yet? :confused3

This is correct. You have guaranteed seating within the reserved section, but are not assigned a specific seat. And yes, if the theater is full they will open the reserved seating section 30 min. before showtime. I believe they state on the voucher that you should be seated before this time.

You should be able to do this on your 180 day, but they frequently don't have it loaded in time. I've sometimes had luck by phoning instead of booking online. Actually I book by phone anyway any time I'm using my cc.

Thanks so much your your advice! I just called and got exactly what I was looking for. I'm so excited :cool1:
