Fantasmic Dinner Package Changes

We were only able to book one month in advance for May. I would call back within that time frame.

It seems to me that they are booking the packages one month at a time - and telling everyone that it may discontinue the next month - but for the past Several months, they keep opening it up for the next month at the beginning of the previous month. (That was confusing!)

For example, I would imagine that the FDP will become available for July at the beginning of June. (I was able to call on May 1st for our FDT on June 10th).

So, for Pyedog, I would check once every other week or so just to be certain - and then every other day or so towards the end of July/beginning of August for Sept dates.

And keep checking the Boards b/c they are always full of more information than ANY one CM could tell you!

Does anyone know if they are going to add any restaurants, since H&V is closing. My Hubby wants to eat at the Sci-Fi Diner, but we loved the convience of no lines for the show.

I was told it was too soon to book for july, that they weren't accepting them YET.

When we were there over Christmas break, the menu was the same as for non-FDP memu. Except the night we were there, there was only one option for desert. Per other posters on this thread, this has changed...apparently the night after we were there! lol

We did BD Fantasmic on May 1st. We ordered off the regular dinner menu, (DH and I had Filet and Lobster Tails; DS had roasted chicken dinner, DD had Cobb Salad, - DH and I had Grapefruit cake, DD had Double Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee and DS had chocolate sundae concoction). We were not restricted in any way.

H&V is closing? Oh, no! That was my choice for the fantasmic package. Does anyone know the date of closing and if there will be another buffet option opening in it's place?

Has this changed? Last I had read H&V was closing it's character breaky Mar 23rd but would still be open for lunch and dinner (no characters).

We did the dinner package at H & V on May 21. It was great and even though the crowds had been low all week, the amphitheater was packed and there was standing room only by the time it started.

I don't think they are closing H & V, only for breakfast and lunch. The night we were there they were sold out and turning people away. Also we only had to pay the regular price of 19.95, not the higher price listed at the beginning of this thread.

Is it possible to get around this 'wait with baited breath and see if it happens' routine by just booking a PS at the restaurant and then changing it to a fantasmic package when they open up for the date? This would seem to be less frazzling on the nerves.

That is what I did. As soon as someone posted that they had a dinner package for May I called and changed the PS to the dinner package.

A friend called on May 1st for June around 5:30 pm and she was told she got the last FDP for the BD. I would call and reserve it and switch it over later to the FDP. She called only about 4-5 hours after they opened up June. When I called they also told me that they were going fast. She called about an hour after I did. I would still call on June 1st through out the day in case they won't let you switch it. I called on May 1st in the morning, then mid afternoon but after I called they opened up and that was when I came home around 4:30 pm.

I also made a regular PS for BD for May 1st and when I was able (about April 6th) I called and changed it to a Fantasmic Pkg. I was also told then that the slots were filling quickly.

I was able to get a FDP at Holly Vine on the day before for 4. It was at 7pm, which was perfect. All I did was call the dining # from my room and I was able to get it for the Sat before Memorial Day. There was also a 4pm seating avalible at BD.

Thanks to the heads up on this post. I was able to get my PS for the F!DP for July 1 at the Brown Derby at 6:10pm. Only 26 days to go!

So now they're booking for July! I wish they would make up their minds what the policy is and stick with it. I was told by Disney that they were only accepting reservations for Fantasmic Dinner packages through the end of June. After that, they said, I could make the dinner reservation, but had to change it to Fantasmic package onsite....only could be done after I'd checked into the hotel. I was told this twice on two different calls to Disney Dining.

Does anyone really know what the policy is??? We're not going until Oct., but I'd love to know when it will be available for booking.

Hi, I am going July 5-17th and was told a number of different things by reservations dept. (priority seating). I am going to call tomorrow and try to book something for our stay and will post with the "latest" information once I get it. Thanks.
