Fantasmic Dinner Package Changes

Wasn't successful the past two days to get Breakfast at Cindy's, but I did manage to get the Fantasmic package for Oct 1 today

(happy ferret dance)

She told me the last available seating at Hollywood/Vine was @5:30 if that helps anyone with their plans :)

Adults are 19.99 and kids are 9.99--this is the least expensive package deal.

This will be our only buffet meal at WDW since we have a 3 and 5 yr old who is autistic. Anybody have any tips on managing buffets with little ones?

Does anyone know if the Connections vouchers can be used for the Fantasmic dinner package? Actually, there are no dinner vouchers, only lunch vouchers. I don't how late it considered for lunch. Since the time for the fantasmic restaurants starts about 3:30, would it still be considered lunch?

Also, we're going in Dec. Plan to be at MGM around Dec. 9 or 10. How crowded would it be then? Maybe we could just use our connections vouchers to eat at the Brown Derby then take our chances on getting seats at the show. How would that work? Also, I have two six-year olds . Would this show be appropriate for them, or are parts of it too intense?

The Fantasmic Dinner package continues to be confusing!!

I called today to book 60 days out at Mama Melroses. After making my reservation, the rep. called me back on the phone 1/2 an hour later to tell me there would be no Fantasmic show on Oct 2. And that Fantasmic was only running until the end of Sept.!!!!!

I rearranged our schedule so we can go on 9/29.

SO IS FANTASMIC ENDING FOR GOOD IN SEPT?!? Seems unlikely, but that's what they seemed to be telling me this morning on the phone.

Does anyone know what the current deal is with FDP? I want to book this for October 8th? Thanks in advance!

Tazz is right; they are showing at least on the schedule for October. But the first week up to the 4th has Fantasmic at 8. We booked a package just a few days ago for the 1st and was not told anything about it not being available.

Wonder what's going on?

I called this morning for another PS and the rep. was VERY knowledgeable. He said that there are extra staff members on the phones on the weekends and they don't get all of the updates that the full timers get.

According to this guy, they did have "huge changes" scheduled for the package in Oct, but then all of that didn't go into effect. He thought the weekend-only guy I talked to yesterday was probably confused by all the turmoil.

Anyway.....don't worry; he said the package is alive and well for Oct.

I DO wish they would go ahead and decide already about what they're gonna do....the weekend guy couldn't book our dinner on 10/02, as I'd requested, and we had to change our week's dining schedule around to move it to Sept. 29th. I'm sure if the rep. was better informed and they weren't so wishy washy about what they're doing to the pkg, this wouldn't have happened.

Thanks, Pyedog, for the info :)

Now I'm really curious about what they have planned for Oct....hopefully they'll allow the SCI-FI or PRIME TIME restaurants to be a part of it; the other ones I really don't care a fig about (I have two small children) and I only chose Hollywood because it was the least expensive...

Please note that this now a 90 day reservation! I was all set to make my reservation on Aug 16th but luckly I read that they changed most PS's to 90 days out beginning 8/4. Today I was able to make reservations for October 15th.

We will be at Disney from 12-1 to 12-11......I thought this was suppose to be "SLOW" time...... I can't believe that it will be that difficult to get to see the show without spending the money to eat DINNER at 3:10 or 4 something....sounds like a very late lunch to me....expensive too. Knowing that the "reserved" seats are not even in the middle of the seating also turns me off.

Am I the only one not paying to eat off a "special" menu...at that price you would think they would offer the "normal" menu.

Of course you can get a seat without doing a dinner package. We were there May 16 to the 24th and it was not at all crowded. We did the package at Hollywood and Vine because we like it and we did not want to stand in line to get into the ampitheater. We paid the same price as everyone else, no "special" prices. It is a choice, we had our grandchildren and did not want to have them be bored sitting for over an hour waiting for the show to start. There are alot of people who do not do the package and get a great seat.

We did the Hollywood and Vine package this past wednesday. The food was very good at Hollywood and Vine and we got great seats. We got there at 8:30 for the 9:00 show and it was fine.

Regarding October Packages...

I was able to obtain a H&V package for Oct. 2. It was booked through the GF Concierge, so I didn't talk to a CM about any changes. Time was 5:20 with Fantasmic scheduled for 8PM.

With the dinner package, did you que up in a special line or entrance area ? Was it well marked ? With the dinner package is 1/2 hour enough time or too much time to arrive before the show ? What time would you recommend for reservations ? I hope to pick the Brown Derby for the package. Is the Brown Derby a reasonable distance to the show or a long walk ?

Thanks

I think we ate at 6, when you call for reservations they will give you the available times. The parade was at 5 and I wanted to be able to watch it. We had time after we ate to do a few rides. You have to be to the ampitheater no later than 30 minutes before the show starts, after that they will let anyone sit in the reserved section. They will give you a slip of paper with the entrance marked, you go to the gas station by were they rent the strollers. It is maybe a 5 minute walk from here to the ampitheater. I think we headed over there about 40 minutes before show time and did not have to wait in any lines. Although the park was not crowded, the ampitheater was almost full when we got there, plenty of room in the reserved section. By the time the show started it was standing room only. Hope this helps.

What is the latest PS time at any restaurant anyone has gotten for the FDP when Fantasmic in shown at 9:00?

about 20 mins I think-but it takes a long time to get out of there afterwards!

Hi everyone...right now I have the H & V booked for 4:20p on the 27th of October. The concierge at the Poly booked it for me, and she said that it was the last table for 5 that was available for that night's show, and I assumed she meant just for that restaurant, because I had asked her to book it. I'm debating whether to try to switch over to the BD? I wonder if its worth it to pay the additional? What ages do they consider kids for the kids meal? I want a nice meal that won't feel rushed or crowded, and since there was only one table left at the H & V, I wonder if that means that it is overbooked that night?? Should we just be buying something at another place to eat (quick food) and lining up with the rest of the people for a couple of hours?? Will we need to do this in October?? THANKS!! Hope you can help!!
