Fantasmic Dinner Package A Must?

We are going to Disney on 10/1 for 10 days with 17 people (almost the whole family). We are unable to get a PS for the Hollywood and Vine dinner. Is it really that bad to just go to Fantasmic without the dinner package? Does it really fill up at that time of the year? Thanks.

Fantasmic many times and never used Fantasmic Dinner Package.I don't que up until main line starts to move,we then fall in step and most times get seated in center about 3/4 of the way up in center seating area.Don't get me wrong the Dinner Package is nice and many love it,I'm just saying if doesn't happen for you don't panic and don't think you have to que up 90 minutes before show to get seat.

We never get the package either. We go early and get a snack from the vendors and wait. aw:

The dinner package is more of a deal for families with preschoolers who only last so long standing in a line. The package allows you to enter and take a seat verus standing in a line for an extended period of time.
