Fantasmic Dinner ADR questions

I have read a few questions about the Fantasmic dinner package but am still not sure...is the Fantasmic dinner package one that you have to PAY FOR when you make the ADR like with Hoop Dee Doo? And something else I have read recently is that the dinner package voucher no longer GUARANTEES you a seat. DO they let the voucher folks in before everybody else? That second part may be a little off topic.

I just booked a Fantasmic package and didn't have to pay for anything however I did it while logged in with my vacation booking (for 180 +10) and I have a dining plan so I don't know if that affects it.

To my knowledge, you were never *guaranteed* a seat with the package. The package allows you to sit in a special reserved section for package holders but you sit wherever you want within that section. If you walk in 2 mins before show starts, there may not be seats together or seats at all. There is a separate entrance to this seating area for people with the package, so they are not let in ahead of everyone else. From what I have read, the benefit of the package is that you don't need to line up an hour and a half early but you should still get there about a half hour early to get a seat.

The two right-most sections of the theatre are reserved for people who do Fantasmic! dining packages. From what I've read, they often open up the FDP seating area to everybody between 20 and 30 minutes before the show. Even with FDP you can't show up a few minutes before and expect a seat, but at least you're not having to show up 2-3 hours before the show to ensure yourselves seats.

When you book a Fantasmic! dinner package, you will be required to prepay if you do not have the dining plan attached to your reservation. If you have the dining plan you still need to give a credit card for them to hold which will be charged if you are a no show.

The dining plan voucher does not guarantee you a seat. There is a section that is roped off for those with vouchers. However, this section will be opened to anyone at about 30-20 minutes before show time. You will still need to show up early even with the package... just not as early as you would have to show without it.

Also, if the show is canceled for any reason, you will not be reimbursed.

FDP is a cc hold/guarantee only, not a pre-pay.

Our experience with the FDP was that we were allowed into the arena before the crowds. This was approx 45 prior to showtime via a separate entrance. However *I believe this is how it works*, you are not guaranteed a seat if either a) there's a thunderstorm that closes the show b) you arrive within 10 min prior to showtime...since general admission has now been allowed to fill the reserved seating.

I booked today and they took my card number with the condition that I would need to cancel 2 days before if I choose not to go. I do have the dining plan.

Don't have the dining plan and just used a CC to hold the reservation.
