Fantasmic Dining Plan and waiting in line?

Forgive me if this has already been answered, but if you do the Fantasmic dining plan do you still have to wait in line? If so, how long before the show starts do you have to line up or does the CM just take you to your seat when you arrive at the theater? I'm a little confused as to how it works. This would be for January by the way (Fantasmic at 6:30pm)

You don't wait in the same line. It is an entirely different line. And just like regular seating there is "better" seating in the reserved area so you still want to get there a little early. I'd say 20-30 minutes beforehand should be alright in January (and there may not even be a line if the crowds are light).
