Hi!

Sorry if my questions have already been answered, but after much reading I still do not completely understand the Fantasmic Dining Experience.

I got the following price information on allears.net:

Brown Derby $46.99 adult/$11.99 child (3-9) (plus tax and gratuity)
Mama Melrose $32.99 adult/$11.99 child (3-9) (plus tax and gratuity)
Hollywood & Vine $24.99 adult/$11.99 child (3-9) not including admission, tax, and gratuity

The Hollywood & Vine is a buffet style restaurant. Do guests from the Fantasmic Dining Experience get to choose from the same buffet as the regular guests?

Where do the prices for the other 2 come from? The Brown Derby and Mama Melrose are table service restaurants. Can't I just order anything I like from the menu? That would mean I could order something a little cheaper or something a little pricier than the quoted price?
Or is there a special menu from which I have to choose when I booked the package?

Thanks in advance for your help!

At H&V, you choose from the same buffet. As far as the two TS options, you can pick anything on the menu... you get an appetizer, main course and dessert.

Basically the only difference there is, is that with the Fantasmic Package you are guaranteed a seat in a reserved section at the Fantasmic Show.

You pay the fixed price of the package in order to get the Fantasmic seating. You can order anything off the menu, but the prices won't matter. After dinner you will get your special pass for Fantasmic. This gives you guaranteed seating, (without waiting in line for hours). You will be directed to a special entrance and sit in a specific section of the theater.

FWIW, Brown Derby is our favorite restaurant on property! Food and service are outstanding :thumbsup2
Mama Melrose's is also good. Pretty standard Italian food.
H&V, well only tried it once and have no intention of going back.

I also have a Fantasmic question....hope this isn't considered hijacking!!

We have an ADR for 3:40 pm but Fantasmic doesn't start until 8 pm. Will it really take that long to eat or do I end up sitting waiting for Fantasmic for 2 hours? Or can I leave, walk around, THEN go see the show in the reserved seats?

thanks
Xanthe

Yes, you can go on rides between dinner and Fantasmic. When they give you the passes, they tell you where and when to go to the Fantasmic pass entrance. We were able to squeeze in Beauty and the Beast show in between the two, and arrived early for Fantasmic.

We did the package at the Brown Derby because we really like the restaurant! We were allowed to order anything off the menu for the package price.

i just did the package a couple of weeks ago and we went to hollywood & vine. food not spectacular but the kids really enjoyed it. we just killed some time with the Narnia attraction and the great movie ride. we entered thru the special entrance and sat in the reserved section. we got there an hour early and had great seats. the kids were bored though with the wait but loved the show. when we entered 1 hour before, the other sections were already completely filled. I thought that everyone else remained outside in line but people were entering the theatre as we were going to dinner. just about completely packed when we entered except for the reserved section.
