FANTASMIC! Dining, Dessert, Fastpass Thread - Q&A Here

Never could get more than a busy signal on the phone, and now when I check online there are "no times available" for the Hungry Bear package day I need. Probably in part because it's the August week APs are allowed back in. Oh well, FP it is, and I get to spend my $60 (plus tax!) on something else awesome.

Finally after ringing busy all morning I got through and was able to book the RBT Premium Seating pkg for our trip in August. I hope it's worth it!! I'm looking forward to hearing about other people's experiences with these packages.

I really hope AP discounts apply.... they do on all other similar dining packages.... also, can't wait for the reviews! :D

Just a heads up to anyone who called this morning and all they did was add a note to the BB reservation, you need to call back and have them officially change the reservation and generate a new reservation number. That's what they did for me this morning and when I called back later they fixed it.

They definitely were not ready for this to go on sale today. The cast member I first talked to said that they had not been briefed at all on what was going on and were just thrown into booking.

This may have been covered, but I can't find it. I was finally able to book RBT after trying all day. Does anyone have a link to the menu of offerings specific to the Fantasmic kid's menu? I'm taking my 7-year-old and he's a super picky eater, so I need to prep him for what's available to him. We aren't going until July 25, so I could just wait and be patient, but he really wants to know now.

Nothing has been released yet, so we have no idea! You can try showing him the regular menus, but those won't necessarily be the same for the Fantasmic package, but for kid's meals they may be (or at least willing to substitute).

I GOT IT !!!! BB July 25 6:10. i am going to cancel RBT July 25 5:50 hope someone can pick it up. I had the BEST AGent on the Phone. She kept trying any way she knew how to get the reservation. i wish i had gotten her name

I don't think any menus have been posted. I did find a photo of an RBT Fantasmic menu from 2015 on line. Back then the children's menu options for RBT Fantasmic dining were: 1. slow roasted new york strip; 2. roasted chicken and 3. mac and cheese. The appetizer was vegetable crudite with ranch and dessert was either a cupcake with chocolate frosting or a fruit skewer.

The adult choices were 1) slow roasted New York Strip with a cajun shrimp skewer; 2. Rosemary marinated chicken breast or 3. hand tossed pasta primavera in garlic cream sauce. The adult appetizer choice was mixed greens or corn chowder and dessert was caramel apple pie with struesel or chocolate mouse cake with raspberry sauce.

They may have an entirely new menu this time around. I would expect that they probably would, as the adult offerings are not on the RBT regular menu, so there is no reason for them not to do something completely new. The kids' regular menu does have mac and cheese and oven roasted chicken, so I would bet those stay on the Fantasmic dining package menu for kids, but who knows. DD can be picky and does not like it when a menu only has 2 or 3 choices- she is 11 and a Disney adult. In anticipation of her turning up her nose at whatever is offered, I already told her to try something and if she really hates it, I will get her something else to eat between dinner and the show. Most of the time, when she knows she has that cushion that I am going to just feed her something else without complaint and will not get on to her or make her eat the meal, she doesn't stress, we avoid the complaining and whining, and more often than not, she will wind up eating the meal.

I got a reservation for the 8pm River Belle Terrace seated viewing for 7/26. The 8:00 eat on the patio and stay seated for the show package wasn't available to select on the website so I called this morning and was on hold for a while. The cast member had to do some searching to figure out how to book the 8:00 package. Eventually she found it and told me that it was labeled as the "premium package." If you want to book it make sure to ask for the premium :)
We've never eaten there before and we're only in Disneyland for a few days so I thought this would be a nice way to guarantee we get to see Fantasmic! Can't wait!

Definitely looking forward to feedback on the table seatings for Fantasmic. I'm having trouble seeing how they will have a predictably good view. Maybe they're going to put the tables up on blocks. ;)

Do you think it's possible they could try for the higher tables & chairs like at the WOC dessert party??? I am also finding it hard to believe the view would be worthwhile.

I wondered the same thing. But I've never watched from there so have no idea what the sight lines are. I just figure there has to be some sort of walkway through there, and if you're sitting and others are walking, it doesn't add up to a good view in my book.

Has anyone heard what the reservation time cutoff is for seating for the first Fantasmic show versus the second? I moved our reservation up to 5:30 pm just to be on the safe side, but I was wondering if anyone who talked to a person was told anything. I did everything online. Phones were busy every time I tried to call.

Do you mean in regards to which showtime you would get FPs for? When I did my dining package before F! went down, you were able to choose between both showtimes as long as there were still FPs available for both.

So excited these have been opened! We booked a reservation for both the Hungry Bear and RBT. I have a child on the spectrum so once the menus are released, I'll see which option will be a better fit for him and cancel the other.

I was told i have first show for a 6:10 dinner

Great! Thank you! I had read somewhere that reservations 6:00 pm and later might get the second show and I was worried that would be too late for us.

I just talked with Disneyland Dining in order to get my reservation set up for RBT on July 24th. I asked about the viewing for the show, and she did confirm that the viewing area was seated, though if you are in the back of the reserved section and it gets crowded you may be asked to stand. But as long as you are in the front portion of the reserved viewing area you should be able to sit without a problem.

Fingers crossed that will be the case!! I don't mind getting there a bit early to snag a spot towards the front, but standing for a few hours with little ones will be tough.

Was finally able to get past the busy phone signal and got a hold of Disney reservations. The CM was able to add Fantasmic notes on both my existing Blue Bayou reservations-she said that would be enough for the restaurant! I have RBT booked each of those days too, so I'll decide which to go with when the menus come out!

I considered HB but then I remembered (after someone mentioned on this board) that previously the on-the-go just gave you a regular FP, not access to the reserved seating area. So you still had to line up with everyone else who just made sure to pull a FP for Fantasmic earlier that day. Nope, not going to pay a premium for that!
