Everyone always seems to do the Illuminations Dessert Parties. Anyoone ever do a Fantasmic Dessert Party? Any pictures?

:goodvibesPeople usually choose Illuminations because it is almost ALWAYS at 9pm, (last year they changed it to 930 for one week near Xmas) so it is very reliable, and because it goes on rain or shine! SO it makes planning a little easier.

Fantasmic is currently done just a few times a week, and if its really windy or there is any lightening or anything they call it off, since they can't risk the performers being out of the water.

I do not know how often Wishes gets canclled anyone have any idea?

Pricewise, I think they are pretty similar, and Fantasmic is AWESOME, so if that is your favorite show, I think you should go for it! You just have to make sure its planned for your wedding night, not sure how far out the schedule goes. :goodvibes

We did and we LOVED it! We had our Fantasmic party as our cocktail hour for the reception. I've posted some photos and information in this thread .

We enjoyed it so much we may be planning another party for Fantasmic this year.

i also am looking to do a fantasmic desert party. we were originally going to do epcot but then discussed it last night that if we can, we would do that. i love that show! i know that the shows have been cut back and i just called my planner and waiting to see. we are getting married the sunday after New Years, so i am hoping there will be more shows. i would love to do it and the menus are sooo much better than epcot. where exactly do they set you up? is it roped off from other people? from the pics that lurkyloo posted, i see that it looks like the view is pretty good (and you don't get wet):thumbsup2 any info would be great!

The setup is on the patio at the back of the amphitheater, behind all the benches. The patio is divided into a smaller area and a larger one. Both areas have railings that separate them from the main walkway running between the patios and the crowds.

The view is OK - the lighting rigs kinda block it but, as you say, you don't get wet! :thumbsup2

These photos were taken standing at the railing, so about as close as you can get (but they were taken with an iPhone, which accounts for their low quality!):

Both patios have a $250 venue rental fee and a $750 food and beverage minimum. The small one holds up to 40 people, while the large one can hold 40 to 100. There is also a $75 setup fee and then a $12.95 viewing fee for each person who doesn't have park admission.

Hope this helps! :thumbsup2

thanks carrie! that does help. you are always very helpful and it is so appreciated that i give you 3 dancing bananas!!!:banana::banana: my planner and his assistant are both on vaca this week but the planner who is taking over for them got back to me to tell me the hours have not been released yet but since the date of my wedding is a Sunday and right after New Year's, Fantasmic will more than likely not be taking place. :(

Do you have to stand to see the show? It looks like alot of people are standing right in front of the people seated in the patio area.

Do you know, do you need to book this thru DFTW or thru Catering Services?

Anyone have any of the menu options?

Do you still need to rent chairs and tables or do they include those?

Thanks,

You would only have to stand if the other people in your party blocked your view by standing at the railing. :thumbsup2

If you are having a DFTW, you need to book through DFTW. If you are not having a DFTW, book thru Catering & Convention Services..

Anyone have any of the menu options?

Go to Magical Kingdoms.com and look in the Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings section under menus - they're all there and they're all up to date thru Sept 2010. :thumbsup2

They are included in the $75 setup fee.

The link for the dessert menus doesn't work. Can anyone post one that does? Thank you

Apparently the DIS has started blocking links to Magical Kingdoms.com - just go to their website and look in the Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings section under menus. :thumbsup2

Carrie, do you remember if the lighting rigs block the water screens too?

Does anyone know if you can have hot appetizers at a F! dessert party?

Thanks!

The water screens do not get blocked by the lighting rigs. Also, yes, you can have hot dishes there - you just need to see which ones they'll allow.
