Hi Ladies

Has anyone done a fantasmic dessert party?

I am just planning ours and was wondering what is more special illuminations or fantasmic, alot of our guests have not been to disney before and we want something that they are going to remember and think wow that was really good.

I rememeber when I first saw fantasmic I thought wow but I'm not sure if its better than illuminations for a dessert party

Thanks

There are a few people who have had Fantasmic dessert parties - read Mary626's TR because I know she had one and her TR is very descriptive. I originally wanted a Fantasmic DP but when I was talking about it with my first SM, she said that they discourage Fantasmic DPs because of the unpredictability of the weather (if the show is rained out your DP is moved indoors and while you do have the dessert, just not a show). Good luck!

I had the same experience with my planner when trying to decide which show to use. Fantasmic is an awesome show, but when you do an Illuminations party, you've got a private or semi private area, you're outside in EPCOT at night, which is really pretty in itself, and then you get the show. With Fantasmic, they herd everyone into the show area into those bleechers and you get a roped off area at the top of the seating area (from what I understand). The entire time before and after the show there are food and beverage carts near by, families walking around, and it's a different atmosphere.

If you are asking what is a better show than I would say Fantasmic hands down.

To me, Fantasmic incorporates everything you think of when you think of Disney. All the characters get involved at some point and it is about the dreams and magic of what makes Disney.....well.....Disney.

I cry everytime I see it and it is by far my fave show! :goodvibes

But, logistically I think to create a more "party" atmosphere then Illuminations would be better. Like a previous poster said, you have a private area and while you wait for the show you have a gorgeous view of EPCOT at night.

But, in my opinion while Illuminations is a GREAT show, it doesn't have the "Disney" feel like Fantasmic.

Good Luck! :thumbsup2
