Fantasmic Dessert Buffet

Until recently I've usually been a solo traveler and the one time I have done the Fantasmic Desert Seating I was only paying for myself which probably skews my idea of the price since I'm not paying for a family and watching thr price jump up. I've always been one of the people who camp out for hours for Fantasmic to get the perfect spot because I had to be along the railing of ROA in order to get the photos that I wanted and a view without someone in front of me. Sitting on the ground gets old after a while. I really got drawn in by the appeal of having a chair to sit in and a desert tray and beverages and found the price to be completely worth it for me. It just depends on what your priorities are. Plus it was a great way to 'pamper' myself.

Agreed! It can get cold. Ive waited in October before, but lucky I had a small blanket with me in my bag for times like Fantasmic and Parades. However in the summer, the ground is so warm, it feels awesome!

The view is great and you may or may not need to worry about being in the front row. They arrange chairs in three rows. Younger kids will be best off in the front row. Unfortunately the only way to guarantee that is to show up at 6PM and wait it out until 8PM when they start assigning seats. Yes, a line builds at 6PM for reserved seat assignments for a 9PM show. Kind of crazy, right?

If you do end up in the back row (like we did last July - because we purposely did not come to get seats til 8PM) the CMs are cool about letting you move your chairs around (a little) and/or letting you stand up in the back. We did a combo of sitting and standing.

So now you PAY to wait for a chair if you want the front row? I thought this was the whole reason for the cost in the first place.

I will for sure do my time in front of the railing of ROA for free as usual.

I have to say I have always been skeptical of the Fantasmic Dessert seating. Like you, I was not about to wait hours to get a front seat. I was OK with coming over at 8PM to get seat assignments. But then I had teen kids who were OK with the back row when we did it for the first time last July.

Regarding the whole experience, I have to say it was better than you might think. My DS15 had seen F! probably 5 times previously since he was 6 and after he said "wow, I never really understood the whole story before". So it was better. We barely ate the dessert (took most of it back to the hotel). But the seats were comfy and the view was better than sitting on the ground near the rail - which we had always done before.

FWIW.

:)

We did this for 13 a year ago....SO WORTH IT....we didn't show up an hour early....maybe 30 mins....and we got great seats...it just depends on where you are in the line...The box of goodies is Yummy....

We got a few extra bottles of water and used them the next day.... :)

I say 60 bucks is worth a box of goodies, drinks, great seats, and only waiting 30 mins....

Have fun

Looks yummy!!

does it still have chocolate covered strawberrys?/?

It didn't last week.

We showed up at about 7:40 and could have had first row seats but chose second row seats dead center for the show. I think any of the seats would have been good though.

:worship: :yay: :dance3:

(whispers) If I may mention one tiny little thing... the header for that section still says "FANTASMIC DESSERT BUFFET." Maybe it could be changed to "Fantasmic! Premium Viewing and Dessert"? "Premium Viewing" is the wording used on DL's site. :goodvibes

THANK YOU for updating that page!

Try what you are saying when it is busy, holiday, summer, etc...you may see it a bit differently.
