No not yet. I know when Halloween Time starts fireworks usually go on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Thanks! We are planning to be there Aug 23-27, so hoping we'd get to see Fantasmic and Fireworks, it's still summer in my books, maybe one of the flaws of Halloween time starting earlier this year (then again, look at when I buy Christmas lights, so what do I know, ha!)

Fantasmic will be on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as well as the fireworks.

We are considering a mid-week trip next year and F! and fireworks are a must-do. I was looking at early September but it sounds like they would not be happening mid-week then. Do they usually happen mid-week in early December?

September F! normally performs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. December is the same....Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. F! is shown nightly starting around 12/20 to the end of the holiday season in early January,

Most kids would agree with you, but the elementary schools in Anaheim start in early August. Once schools are in session, because of an agreement with the city, DL only does fireworks on Friday, Sat and Sunday nights and nightly during school vacation weeks.

I can't find any agreement related to school holidays. Do you have a link?

It’s been mentioned on this and other forums for years that DLR has a restrictive agreement with Anaheim regarding fireworks, but I can’t find any evidence such agreement exists.

In 2000, Disneyland did firework shows 200 days a year. At the same time, Knott’s did fireworks 150 days per year. Disney planned a second nightly show at DCA (under construction at the time) and residents complained, claiming the fireworks caused health and property damage. Disney did a study that showed the fireworks caused no heath concerns or property damage… and Anaheim admit they couldn’t stop them from doing a show at DCA.

After 9/11, Disney agreed to sale back the number of nights it performed firework shows. But if you consider that the 200 days was a watermark in 2000… they’ve long surpassed that. So I suspect the agreement with Anaheim is just a myth.

The real reason they cut back on fireworks briefly - and never did them from DCA - is why Knott’s ended fireworks: money. Today’s fireworks are far more health and environmental friendly… but some Disneyland social media personalities claim they’ve heard from higher ups that Disney plans to heavily reduce firework shows going forward, again due to cost. I doubt that as well…

Does the Magic Kingdom do nightly firework shows? When I was a kid, fireworks were only on weekends/ busy periods…. Same as DL. Only Pleasure Island had year round fireworks (every Friday is NYE).

I wanted to add; the fireworks shows are pretty intrusive. You can see them from at least 10 miles out. If you’re traveling on the 5, it can come to a rush hour-like crawl as people slow down to watch.

And yet DLR has committed to around 200 performances of Wondrous Journeys, which is probably the most intensive show in Disney history. Mickey’s Mix Magic is really tame, especially compared against Happily Ever After.

Allegedly a new show is being developed to replace Mix Magic and will be drone based, with minimal fireworks. I’m really skeptical of that as DLR is way too close to flight paths around LGB and SNA.

I'll add that it looks like the last day of Shadows of Memory might be August 2. The last day of Better Together might be August 3. The last day of Celebrate Happy Cavalcade might be August 10.
