Fantasmic at WDW is WEAK!!

Never been to DL but love Fantasmic at WDW.
I can't imagine standing for the entire show even if did make me cry!
But, I guess since DL is not as big as WDW, I could probably stand it.

Maybe, someday...I'll see it at DL.

Well, OK.

I gotta ask.

Why would you not consider standing for 30 minutes while watching Fantasmic! (yes, you DO need to be standing there for another X minutes BEFORE the show to "hold" your spot) but not worry about a 30-45 minute QUEUE for certain (most?) attractions on a busy day, or worry about walking for MILES thoughout the day anyway.

That's just "Standard Operating Procedure" at a Theme Park.

Well, I guess that after going commando in the park...I am TIRED!!

But, like I said, I have never been to DL and I know that it is smaller and I might be okay to stand there.

Question though, what about the little guys. Do people continually find themselves moving out of the way for kids to be able to see?

Well if you literally go commando all day, it would be hard. If you use the afternoon break strategy, it is not hard. And I do remember standing for Fantasmic once and it was not bad, but we usually find a place to sit. We have stood for fireworks, though, and that also was not bad.

In general I don't think people move out of the way for kids. If they're small their parents will hold them so they can see, or work harder to get a better seat. I mean, if you are standing there, people in general won't shove their kids in front of you. But some parents do strange things sometimes.

I get the feeling from this thread that people who haven't been there have this idea of it being an out of control madhouse so they avoid it. It has never been that way for us. We always enjoy the show. Yes, there are a lot of people. But there are a lot of people at DLR all day long. Big deal. But you will make things easier if you can go to a second show if there is one.

Maybe someday I will get to DL. I guess since WDW is all I know, I base stuff on that. Like I posted, I forget how BIG WDW really is, and how small DL is.

I would love to go. It is just easier to get to WDW. If I do get to CA. I will stand with everyone else! I just love Fantasmic!

You don't have to stand at DL to get a seat or to watch Fantasmic...the area up front is seating only (on the ground)...There are only a few standing areas and they are usually towards the back of the viewing area. My family has been to DL hundreds of times and we have a few tricks for viewing Fantasmic...One is that you sit on the benches of the Golden Horshoe. It's a fringe view, but better than nothing. Our favorite is to go about 1/2 hour before showtime and find a table or empty chairs in the restaurant seating area between the Stage Door Cafe and the River Belle. Then go and get a snack at the Stage Door and watch the show in relative peace and comfort with a pretty good view. I have never seen the show at WDW, but can't imagine ever seeing it in theater without the Columbia and the Mark Twain.
