Fantasmic AND Star Wars -- possible??

What's the feasibility of catching both Fantasmic and Star Wars Spectacular on the same night? Fantasmic is scheduled for 8 and Star Wars is 8:30. It'll be me, DH and our 3 daughters - age 9, 6 & 6. The twins and myself have NO interest whatsoever in Star Wars but my husband and oldest daughter would love to see it. Meanwhile, I adore Fantasmic and none of the kids have seen the show yet (last time they were there it was too late/too scary for them to attempt).

Is it possible to hit both? Any strategies to make it work? If it's not and we can only see one show, what would YOU pick??

I don't want us running though the park like a bunch of wild fools just to make both happen.

It can be done, but you have to start leaving F! before the finale is over. Usually, we'll start to leave as the boat is about 1/3 of the way across the lake. That will make you one of the first to exit and you'll make it to Star Wars just as the show starts, or maybe 2 minutes after.

Do you have any recommendations for seating/viewing at either to make it easier to do? I'd be cool with only catching part of the Star Wars show - I'm just worried about it being a waste to rush around only to end up having such a bad spot for Star Wars that the kids can't see (because I could care less about my own viewing ability, lol).

In our experience, it's pretty easy to get a "good" viewing spot for Star Wars, even last second...so that's never a worry.

For F!, my kids happen to love the very, very front rows. As in the little benches right at the railings. Those work out great because we're not stuck in the middle of a huge row and makes it really easy to exit. If you can't get one of those or don't want one, then try to be at the end of an aisle so you can scoot out. I know they open sections at a time, but IMO the "easiest" one to make a super fast getaway would be to the right (if you're facing the stage) at the top. So maybe you can "hang out" in the back until that section opens up. But even for us being at the very front near the lake, we can still make it out before the crowd.

Good luck. By your sig line, we have a very similar child set up to you. We have our oldest, then a set of twins that are 3 years younger.

We did it last May. We made sure we were seated just a few rows from the very back of the theater, as close to the exit side as possible. We left as the boat with all the characters was passing. We practically ran all the way to Star Wars fireworks. There were hardly any people moving about so it was an easy run. When we arrived Star Wars had started, but we did get to see most of it. It was myself and 3 teens (19,18,16) so it was easy to move quickly.

I did it. I seated myself towards the back of Fantasmic and as we hit the finale, I got up and stood towards the top to watch it (as did many others). and as soon as that last firework went off, hustled to the Chinese theater. Had a few minutes left too before fireworks happened!
