Fantasmic and Park closing time

I see that MGM closes at 7pm, but also that Fantasmic starts at that time. I had hoped that I would be able to stay in the park and ride some rides while everyone else is watching Fantasmic. Can I not do that? Do they kick everyone out at 7 if your not in the Fantasmic audience?

While they do not "kick everyone out" right at closing time, it has been my experience that all of the attractions, restaurants, and shops, with the exception of the shops near the entrance, close down at closing time or well before then.

You could shop near the entrance while fantasmic is happening, but I think that is about it.

One bright side, though, is that Fantasmic starts to draw crowds well before the show starts, so most of the attraction lines do get shorter 90 minutes to an hour before closing time.
