It has been over ten years since we’ve been to Disneyland and we were wondering if any of the regulars out there might know if and what changes may have been made to Fantasmic in that time. We know about the desert thing, we’re just curious about the program itself. We saw it during what I believe was it’s first year in Disneyland, many moons ago. We have since seen the WDW version a couple of times. While that is also awesome, we still liked the original better, but thought they might have made some changes in a decade.

Thanks for any insights you all might have

There are only a couple of changes....

First, the Ursula float hasn't worked for many years, so do not expect her to be going around the river.

The other thing is that at the end, Tinkerbell lights up the stage with flickering lights when the Mark Twain comes around, which is a nice effect.

Other than that, it's pretty much the same show.

Thanks, that's very cool! We're really looking forward to seeing it again.

I heard the Pinocchio float is not in the show anymore either and there's more video on the water screens to replace it. Can anyone verify?

They fixed it, Redcon1. I had heard that they weren't going to, and had seen a few shows with just the water screens (yawn) ... but, on 7/18, they had the whole Pinocchio scene in the show. I was really happy to see that.

The Pinocchio puppets started working again the second weekend of June.
