Hi, has anyone ever gone mini-golfing at Fantasia Gardens? We're looking for something to do on that first day (don't want to waste a day on our hoppers since we won't be getting in til 4pm). Is it fun? Is Winter Summerland better?

Also, how do you get there if you don't have a car? I'm staying at BCV. Fantasia Gardens is somewhere near the Dolphin, right? What about WS?

Last question: how can I find the hours they are open for March 14-19? Thanks!

We did it years ago before the winter/summerland. I liked the winter/summerland better.. but fantasia gardens is fun, too.

Yes, by the swan and dolphin for fantasia gardens.. can actually walk there from Epcot or the Boardwalk.

Winter/Summerland is right at blizzard beach - we have always taken the bus there.

sorry, don't know what BVC is (bad with the acronyms here).. but use whatever transportation will take you to Blizzard Beach or for Fantasia we took transportation to the boardwalk and walked over from there.

My husband and I go to Fantasia Fairways everytime we go to WDW. They have two sections, one is a true miniature golf and the other side is more like miniature fairways(like greens on an actual golf course)both sides are fun but we prefer the golf green side, it's a little more challenging. I believe you can walk to that one from BCV.

Winter Summerland (can't really remember the name of that one)is located at Blizzard Beach. We have also done this one and it is fun.

Have fun!!

the courses at winter/summerland are a little less challenging than the ones at Fantasia gardens IMHO....both are fun...you should be able to walk to FG from BCV.....as other posters have mentioned: W/S is located next to BB water park and you can just ride the bus for the water park if you like...

My kids really like the theming at Wintersummerland. (cute holes like Santa burried in the sand) The areas of the course that are traditionally green-grass colered astroturf are actually tan(sand), blue(water) and white(snow). It is more of a novelty.

We've always played at Fantasia. I thought the times were listed on the disneyworld.com website but just checked and found nothing. Also, anyone remember how much it is to putt putt at either course?

I could be wrong, jellydisney, but you may get a discount if you show your DVC Membership card (that is, assuming you're a DVC member). The past several years, we've had an annual pass and that's given us a 50% discount on the rounds of golf at Fantasia Gardens. I do think, however, that DVC gets a discount, too.

If you're avid golfers, the Fairways side of the Fantasia Gardens golf course is really fun. We play at least twice everytime we go down. It takes us at least an hour to get through the course...but it's great fun.

Oh wow, that would be a great discount. My mom is a DVC member, and she's letting us use her points to stay at BCV for spring break. So I don't have a membership card... would the resort key be enough of an identification, or would I need the membership card?

Here is what is in my Birnbaum book: $10/adult $8/kids. 2nd round is half price. Hours are generally 10am-11pm but vary seasonally. THe following is what I got off the DVC member website:

Miniature Golf
Members and up to four Guests receive a 15% discount on rounds of golf during regular operating hours at:
Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course
Pirouetting gators, tutu-clad hippos, and dancing water fountains test your skill on 18 holes of whimsical fun for the whole family.

Disney's Fairways Miniature Golf Course
If you enjoy the classic style of golf and more traditional obstacles such as sand traps and water hazards, then this is the course for you!

Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course
Santa and his elves inspired these two wacky, elf-size 18-hole courses. One course has a zany, snow- clad Florida look reminiscent of Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, while the other takes a more tropical holiday theme, with ornaments hanging from palm trees!

I hope this helps you out!!

Golf fanatic DH and b-i-l LOVE the fairways. It's a challenging course & takes quite a while to play. We also like Fantasia gardens, very cute & reasonably challenging. One warning - one hole (can't remember which) is pitched into darkness when you're on the green & there's thunder & lightning. We forgot about this & it sent our 5 yr. old niece running back through the course to the entrance, waving arms & screaming - NOT a pretty picture! When we were there in Jan. there was a deal to play both courses for something like 50% off on the second. There is also an AP discount. Have fun!

We love the fantasia fairways... Some of my best memories are of warm evenings trying to play mini golf!! :bounce: Although, i always seem to land the ball in the water!!

just wish to point out that we took our teenage neice with our family and it cost the five of us 46 bucks for a round of putt putt. They even charged my 3 yr old daughter full price. the course is far too challenging for someone so young. I'd say the course would be best for kids 7 and above.

we will never go back.

instead we will choose one of the other many mini courses available around town.

We've done both and our favorite by far is Winter/Summerland...the theming is so much better and the kids liked it a whole lot more!

jelly disney -

Not sure if your room key would be enough to get the discount. People can stay at DVC resort hotels even if they're not a member...So, I'm not sure. However, you might want to see if you could borrow the card anyway. It might just make things easier. They'll never check to make sure that names match up or anything, so you don't have to worry about that.

The more I think about it, though, if you're staying via DVC points, your key will probably say "DVC Member" on it. That being said, anytime we've gotten a discount, we've shown the actual DVC card.

You might want to pose the general question of "In order to get the DVC Discount, do I need the actual card or just a room key" over on the DVC Board. They are all tremendously helpful over on that board.

We have playes both courses - we like the Fantasia combination better due to location and the fantasia theme attracts us more but both are reasonably good.

If you do not have any discounts as noted the price can be steep
(like all things Disney )

thanks

Fantasia Gardens is fun & a nice walk for BCV. The problem with Winter Summerland is getting there without a car. You can take the Blizzard Beach bus, but BB closes at 5:00 when you will be there. We want to try WS, but have never been able to work it out. Does anyone know of any other transportation available for those who don't drive at WDW?

Thanks RyMickey... Not sure if I will be able to borrow the membership card from my mother (she lives in IL and the mailing back and forth would be something of a pain). However, how much was the discount again? One person said 50%, another said 15%? If it was 50%, it might be worth the hassel of going through snail mail. Or maybe I could get her to fax a copy of it to me? Would that work?

I'm going to go post at DVC board too. :)
