fans for babies

Can anyone recommend a fan for my newborn? He isnt impressed with the heat we are experiancing at the minute, so he really wont be happy with the florida sun!

It needs to be able to clip to a pram and a car seat.

We can buy it in the states if you have had a good one from there or can get one from the here if they are better.

I don't know about a clip on fan but we have used one with a water bottle attached (cheap in Walmart or a big mark-up if bought in the parks). We filled it with ice and just kept spritzing as and when needed.

As long as your baby has comfortable, loose fitting clothing and a good parasol he will be fine - enjoy your trip

Mothercare used to sell clip on pram fans, it worked great for my DD.

Haha how 'cool' is that!! another point to consider is that a fan will only circulate the air available - so if the air is warm, it will only blow warm air out

We did try a fan one year and didn't find it of any use because as Piglet said it ciculated the warm air.

We bought a protect a bub sunshade which worked well and took a change of clothes as DS & DD did get a bit hot and sweaty but they never complained.

Theres actually a quick and easy way to fix the warm air circulation problem. Keep a bottle filled with ice in a cool bag and place it in front of the fan if baby gets too hot - instant air conditioning unit. I also do this at home with a regular fan

We had one of the Mothercare fans when DD was small when we went to Spain but never found it that effective. It didn't stay in position particularly well and as others have said it just blew the warm air around.

We had a Rayshade which was very good but not a cover-all like the Shade-a-Babe.
