I hate to wear a fanny pack at WDW. I know I am weird, but I do not like the way they look or feel. I do need something to carry tickets, etc. Anyone have any other ideas of what I can bring?

I have one of those water proof beach safe things that my TA sent me awhile ago. It holds passes, room key, cash, etc. I tie it to my belt loop or wear it around my neck. It's a little bigger than a deck of cards and works great!

Maybe you could find one of those in the pool section of target or something!

If you are looking for something to carry a little more than just your passes - I bring a mini bookbag or I got a bag from the disney store a few years ago that says disney and the strap goes across my chest. BF will even carry the bag since it isn't really a purse. I can carry quite a bit in it and it stays in place on rides (just swing it around to the front). Sometimes we even use our camara bag to carry everything. Since camaras are so little now there is room for extra stuff in the bag too.

I'm with you - I just can't wear one of those fanny bags :o

For passes, money, etc. we have badge holders from the office supply store. They hang around your neck and the little "pouch" has a clear plastic front with a small zipper compartment behind it. It easily holds park passes, Fast Passes, AAA card, cash, the key to the in-room safe, etc. It wouldn't be practical for anything that isn't flat, but it is great for the things I mentioned.

I use a small crochet purse with an extra-long strap (that I can hook over my head and wear across my body). Because it's fabric, it has some stretch. It looks nicer than a fanny pack but serves the same purpose. Can fit my small wallet, cell phone, mini-fan, and disposable camera very easily.

No you're not weird at all. Majority of the civilization feels the same way about the fanny pack. they are for ugly tourists. :rotfl2:

Back pack, for ladies- purses you could sling on your shoulder, wear pants with big pockets.

I'm feeling the same way.... I bought a very small backpack the other day for 2.00 on clearance at Kmart- I think it's the right size for money, camera, a water bottle, and emergency ponchos for the kids... but it's not bulky, kinda like a large purse I don't have to hold-

DH wears the fanny pack...but, ONLY at WDW. He would not be caught dead or alive w/ one anywhere else.

I have a small backpack type purse. It is made of cloth so I waterproof it.

If you get to the parks or order by phone I found a great item in the park stores. It is a wallet that folds over itself. Closed it is about4 inches tall and open 8 inches. It s set up inside like a regular wallet with 2 zipper pockets on on each inside side and then also a zipper long pocket across the top for $$ or whatever. Tons of room for $$, fastpasses, tix etc. it has a lock/connector to hold it closed and a long strap to either use as a purse, or long enough to put sideways across your body. ALso has a belt loop on back. Best of all it has Micket and the happiest celebration logo on front. Very cute and useful. I believe it was around $14.00.

Ok after I wrote that long explanation I found a picture of it closed on a website but i dont have enough posts to post a URL so if you google "happiest celebration wallet" it will come up.

More expensive on website than what I paid.

Mom Possible-I googled the wallet and it does look nice, but it's $26. at Laughing Place. Where did you get it in the parks? I'm a confirmed fanny packer at Disney-don't tell the fashion police!-but that might do well, too, with the belt loop.

I used my camera bag. It was big enough for my digital camera and small enough for my ticket and cash. Thats all I need in the parks ::yes:: Got my bag from Target.

I saw it in several stores. Mousegears, was where I bought it but I also saw it in the store in the Toontown Fair and I think also in the emporium.

I purchased a leather strap over bag from QVC called a Travelon for my wdw trip this year. It has alot of compartments.
 :cool1:

Hi,
I carry all of our tickets, money, extra film and 2 cameras (my video camera, and my small 35mm). My husband carries a backpack with kid supplies (water bottles, extra clothes for the kids-just in case. For what I carry, I use a professional photographers fanny pack. I love it- It can hold quite a bit, it has easy access, and it leaves me hands free.

Not that I am a slave to fashion, but HOW bad is it if I were to continue to use it? To me it just makes the most sense for all that I want to carry and still be hands free, without having to reach around to a backpack for what I want, or remove it every time I want to sit down.

I would love to hear from others who cannot give up their fanny/front packs.

How bad can it be? We're at Disney, for crying out loud! :cool1: I love my fanny pack (which I wear in front) for all of the reasons that momo2dk stated. As I turn 40 soon, I think it's time to think more about what makes me comfortable and less about what other people think. (Within limits of polite society, of course!) Disney fanny packers, unite! :grouphug:

I have to admit that I have tried to give up the fanny pack but I cant. It is just too easy to get to my camerqa $$ etc. We do bring a backpack which we leave on the stroller for big things but for the valuables nothing beats a fanny pack. I too wear it on the front.

My question to the fanny packers: How big is your fanny pack? I have a huge camping one that I have not been able to make myself wear and then various small/tiny ones.

I tried to do without it during my last trip. Tried wearing pants with lots of pockets. To an extent, it worked...my camera is one of those really small digitals, my cell phone is very small, too. But there were days I really wanted to carry more, so I wore a SMALL fannypack. I have the big camping ones, too, with water-bottle holders and everything, and unless you have small children with loads of paraphernalia, the big packs are just too bulky for comfort (I have enough bulk of my own, thank you!).

Pros of going bagless...no security lines! Crucial if going at park opening.
So much freer and more comfortable! No bulk when buckling in rides.
Nobody asks mommy to "carry this, carry that".

Cons of bagless...always putting my keycard in the same pocket as cellphone by accident ( big no-no, as you can demagnetize your card that way).
Depending on the pants I'm wearing, all the weight in the pockets can cause "droopy drawers syndrome" (you think fanny packs are a fashion nightmare???).

I'm so glad there are other fanny packers. I wear mine in the front. It's not a camping style one with room for water bottles, I got it through a photography equipment web site.

But this is great, I'll be there in April- fanny pack in front!!
