What kinds of bags do you husbands (boyfriends, sons, male friends, etc.) bring into the parks with them?

Post photos please.

We're trying to figure out what the bring on our next trip.

Sorry, no picture but I always wear a smaller sized backpack. No offense to any man that wears a fannypack but there is absolutely no way you could get me to wear one. Costco has a camelback backback for a very good price - my friend ripped out the plastic pouch and it makes a great small back pack.

Yeah...we're looking for something other than a backpack. Maybe some sort of messenger bag or something worn across the chest.

Oh...and the hubby and I don't really care that much about how it looks. It's just Disneyland...not a fashion show.

I wear a fannypack. I don't care if I look like a dork. It's comfortable. I wish I would've worn one years ago when I used to carry a backpack/purse.

i don't usually take one, i let the wife wear it hehe. but since we were at WDW we both had little backpakcs with water and snacks and misc. supplies. see photo:

DH doesn't usually bring anything but I have a black Baggalini and I hand it over to him sometimes and he's willing to wear it. It looks basically like a backback but the strap goes across your body.

I've seen lots of men wearing fanny packs too. I mean, it's Disneyland so I don't think it looks unusual to be wearing a fanny pack there. I guess it depends on what is comfortable to him and how big of a bag he needs. If he just needs a place to keep a water bottle there are also various water bottle straps and holders i've seen for sale online.

i make my dp carry our bag everywhere. it is just a messenger bag.

Do you have a photo of the black baggalini?

He doesn't need it for too many things. Just for his sunglasses, camera, wallet.

Here's a link to the baggalini on bagsuy.com (hopefully the link works, i can't always seem to do links right):

I think it might be too big for the few things you said he wanted it for. Unless you put your stuff in it too and take turns carrying it. If you go to bagsbuy.com or ebags.com you might be able to search for a small backpack or messenger bag. I think bagsbuy might have better prices in general but ebags gives you more views of the different bags so you can get a better idea of what it looks like. Hope that helps!

Also, DH always gets his finger caught in the metal thing on the strap when he is handing the bag over to me so he probably wouldn't vote for this bag but he puts up with it.

I either carry everything or have everything in my camera bag that DH carries. It works for us since we don't take much but wallets and the camera any way.

I have to add that because of my British friends I chuckle a bit every time I see/hear the term "fanny pack", the British call them Bum Bags, because "fanny" is a word that would make your Grandmother blush or fall over in shock. It is a very naughty word :rotfl:

:lmao: That's the same thing my DH used to say -- until he got his bag ripped off twice. Now he wears one everywhere.

We don't care what it looks like either. Comfort is the key. And safety. I always wear my FP to DL and so does DH. Our 19 y.o. is too cool to wear one though, so he stuffs everthing in his pockets.:rotfl:

For years I always brought a big black shoulder bag and everyone put stuff into it. DH would help carry it sometimes. This past summer I revolted and pulled out my little purse just big enough for the camera. The back has a flat flap for credit card and AP. Very easy to grab out. So, DH carried a back pack this year and took turns with the boys (now that they are teens) when they were with us.

My husband and I swore that we would NEVER be caught dead wearing fanny packs but when we went to look for an alternative we really didnt find anything that would do what we wanted it to. Then we found a fanny pack that was on the large side that came with a strap extender, so we made the strap as loose as it would go and we both wore them like messenger bags over our shoulders and across our chest, the worked out perfectly and when we took pics and such we would throw them over our backs. We didnt really care what we looked like, we werent there for a fashion show, but they definately came in handy!

Hmm...that's an interesting idea. I'll have to look into that.

So I made the husband put on my fannypack last night (it's just a black Disneyland one.) It didn't look that bad but he didn't think it was very comfortable.

I like that baggalini someone posted (sp?) but it's a bit too big. We found some other smaller bags but even though they are men's...they kind of look like purses.

I'm not sure what he's going to end up doing. We might just to go target and walmart and see what we see.

Otherwise he'll either end up using a fannypack or maybe just cargo pants (yuck...I hate cargo pants with full pockets.)

Lots of reasons why i wouldn't "wear" a bag/pack etc.:

- I'm not used to it. (comfort)
- I'm not used to it. (would probably leave it someplace)
- I don't wear bags & packs etc.
- Because.

For me....cargo pants (or cargo shorts).....every day.... period.

Easily accomodates the sunglasses, camera, cell phone & sometimes a water bottle (& you don't even "feel" them).

hound <----hands free & no stinkin' fanny packs ;).

:cool2:

DBF wears his pin bag and pants with pockets. He will sometimes wear a backpack but it's just a regular backpack and nothing special. I wear a sling type bag where the straps are cords and the top just pulls closed with them. I did just buy myself the CUTEST Mickey Mouse sling purse (like a Coach purse I have but this one has Mickey on it) and I will use that to carry my pins, my camera, and whatever else I think I might need. I usually keep my wallet in there and my phone in my pocket...sometimes I keep my wallet in my pocket too though. :)
No DL isn't a fashion show but DBF and I both share the consensus that fanny packs are very uncomfortable, we'd both rather just do a small bag. :)

Also, sometimes I've taken a fanny pack but instead of wearing it around my waist, I sling it over one sholder (not across my body). That actually works pretty well because you can take it off easily when you go on rides.

If it's just DH and I going to DLR I will just bring my very small purse that i wear across my body and DH just puts things in his pockets. We whip out the baggalini when we're taking DS so we can have room for all of his stuff (diapers, special formula, etc).

That's me. The fannypack is great. My hands are free, and I can easily access whatever I need without having to stop.

DH wears cargo shorts (or pants) when we go to Disney. I am amazed at how much he can "disappear" into those pockets.

One day at WDW a couple months ago, I was looking for the water bottle we carried in. I thought he'd left it somewhere, until he reached into a pocket and pulled it out. It was completely inside, pocket Velcroed and all! After it rained hard one afternoon and we bought ponchos, he also carried two of them around the next day folded up in his pockets!

I carry an across-the-body travel messenger bag from Lillian Vernon that holds almost everything: my sunglasses, wallet, sunscreen, snack, cell, etc. It sits on my lap during rides so I don't ever take it off. DH just carries his cell, wallet, sunglasses, and camera. If that's all you have to carry the pockets don't get that stuffed.

I love it! It's nice to not have to take it off for rides. I used to bring a purse or backpack. What a pain to have to take it off and put it on the floor or in the pocket on the ride.

The thing I worry about with cargo pants is his glasses breaking. They are prescription sunglasses so they were pretty expensive. Even in a case, I'd worry.
