What do you think of a fanny/waist pack for a 6 yr old boy?
I'm thinking he could carry his autograph book and pen, maybe a few Disney dollars.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Would I buy an adult one?
I'd love your opinions!
TIA~

My two kids DD8 and DS5 had fanny pack for our trip in Sept 08. they were child size and really small, I can't remember where I got them. I did a google search for fanny packs or waist bags. They were also really cheap in price. the kids liked having there own bag, to carry there own stuff. and because they were on the waist it was never left anywhere.:)

My DS is now 15, but when he was 5, I made him carry his own "stuff". So, I filled a kid's fanny pack with small snacks, a pen, and his autograph book. I was tired of being a pack mule! We tried an adult fanny pack, but it wouldn't adjust to his small waist. WDW had many kid sized fanny packs.

We bought one at disney but my son thought it made him too sweaty and didn't want to wear it. He is 7.

When we went last time, my kids both themselves Disney fanny packs at DTD. One is Minnie Mouse and the other is pirate Mickey Mouse. Great sizes, but the standard autograph books that they sell in the parks didn't fit in them. Otherwise, we loved them. DS (now 8) is bringing his for our trip in two weeks. DD (11 now) will be using my Tinkerbell one that I bought in WDW years ago. I bought myself a new bag for this trip. :)

DSD turned 6 the month before our last trip. She had an adult sized fanny pack that we got at Walmart for about $6. I did have to mess with the strap a bit to make it fit her but she LOVED that thing (she already dug it out for our next trip--please note my ticker...). She had her autograph book and 2 pens, her disposable camera, her quarters and pennies for the pressed penny machines, a couple dollars and whatever else she managed to stick in there (a lollipop, some chapstick, tissues, etc). We had absolutely no problems with it and that was at the end of June.

I asked DD10 what she thought of carrying a fanny pack. She hated the idea. Guess she's gotten too used to mom carrying all her stuff.

My DD11 wouldn't be caught dead with a fanny pack, either, but I still make her carry her own stuff. She's got a Nike string pack that works really well and it's light.

As soon as my DS outgrew the stroller I bought him a fanny pack. I ahve emough stuff to carry. I bought him an adult sized one because the kids size would not carry enough. I jst tied some knots in the waist band so it would fit. He loves it and I love not having to fish stiff out for him.. He carries his autograph book, camera, spending money and a drink. His fanny pack has a mesh dring hold on the side. He never gave me any grief about wearing it. It was an easy transition since I told him I was not hauling his stuff around to.
