Any one else having trouble with this company and their "free shipping"?

I placed an order to have easter candy delivered to my dad and put in their free shipping code that I got from my Sunday Paper back on March 17th. Website shows yep you got free shipping total order will be $39.98. I thought great got that done.

Hmm! Next day no confirmation e-mail thats strange.

Called asked what happened no confirmation e-mail, customer rep "oh it came back as not valid e-mail". Gave e-mail again "yep thats the one we have, they will e-mail me a receipt".

Two days later yep got a receipt in an attachement showing that I have to pay $9.99 for shipping. What?:confused3 Go online check website track your order-nope I am getting free shipping on the website. Call customer service yep they see the problem, they will tell finance but they can not e-mail me another receipt. Huh? They have to send a hard copy US Mail. OK? Thats weird this is the modern age' I believe you can send more then one e-mail. But OK I will wait the 5 days for the receipt I requested showing the right amount of 39.98 with no shipping charge.

Yep 5 days later the receipt comes showing I still have a $9.99 shipping charge total bill $49.97:mad:

Call customer service again. Explain that their website track order is showing I get free shipping. Yep she agrees she will have finance send me a correct receipt.( E-mail this time Wow you can do that!!!) You will see a credit for shipping.

Now 7 days later still no receipt and they just billed my credit card. Yep for 49.97 still charging me for shipping.

Called today complained to a manager about them keeping two sets of books. She just laughs and says it will be 3-5 business days before the shipping credit will show up.

Just a vent and a warning. BEWARE OF FANNIE MAY THEY WILL TRY AND CHARGE YOU FOR SHIPPING NO MATTER WHAT IT IS SHOWING ON THEIR WEBSITE TRACK ORDER. WATCH YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS.

Love Fannie May, but be forewarned, you are now going to get an e-mail every single day going forward. The closer it gets to holidays, you may get two e-mails a day from them about shipping, ordering candy, etc. I have never had the trouble that you are experiencing. I hope your situation gets resolved by them.

I would print out the order page from their website that shows no shipping charge, and then dispute the shipping charge with your credit card company.

Oh yes I have been receiving them and they all say free shipping!!:rotfl2:

Thanks for your kind words.

Thanks, yes that is my next step. I am just suprised that since I first called they could not resolve this internally before posting my charge on March 30th.

I am still debating if it is just incompetence or deliberate scam hoping people wont notice, many people do not carefully review their credit card statements.

Ok. I work for 1800Flowers which is parent company of Fannie May. I so wish I were trained in FM but I only do flowers and baskets. Please PM me your order number and I will escalate to a VIP specialist as I can't even access your order with the number since I'm not skilled for that. I can assure you it isn't scam. Honestly, this is absolutely the best company I have ever worked for. Sometimes I think they "give away the farm" if you KWIM. I've worked there seasonally for several years and just started permanent. I'm not saying this because of that. I am saying I will get you a phone call within 24 hours with issue resolved to your satisfaction. It's a mistake and I will get someone I trust to do the right job for you.

Just want to say - this is so nice! :)

Thanks, but I spoke with Theresa a manager who works the 5pm-2am shift every day except Wednesday and Sunday and assures me she will resolve the issue.

Update: right now they have removed the billing for $49.97 from my credit card, waiting to see what they bill me now.

I will keep you updated on how they resolve the issue for me going thru normal channels. I really want to see how it plays out just for a regular individual without any special help. I know I can resolve this issue thru my credit card if I continue to have issues. Thanks again.

Update:

I guess I spoke too soon. Just checked credit card. Guess what now I have another pending charge.
Amount
04/03/2012 Pending FANNIE MAY CONFECTIONS $49.97

OK this is getting too insane. I just want to send my dad less then 2lbs. of chocolate for the $39.98 they promised me back on 3/17/12. :headache:

Update:
I became tired of waiting for Fannie May to credit me $9.99 so called my credit card company. They removed the entire 49.97 charge and will send Fannie May a letter. Hopefully now they will submit the correct amount and I can get back to enjoying the reason for the holiday.
