The day I had been dreading, our last one, but we had to make the most of it, and after a couple of coffees and juices, we head to the Magic Kingdom. It was still very cold, so we got some hot chocolate from the Main Street Bakery, and sit and enjoy them, there were some cute little duckies.
We try our best to fit in our favourite rides, so we do Buzz, Ian whoops me again, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates, the park was still so full, there didnt seem to be any sign of people leaving after Christmas and New Year.
Lunch was at Columbia Harbour House, somewhere we had never eaten before, we had the sandwich and soup and it was so good, we will definately be back here. After lunch I gave in and went to see the bears with Ian, he loves the Country Bear Jamboree, and I wind him up every year by refusing to see it till the last minute.
We got a seat for the Dreams Come True Parade in FrontierLand, the lady behind me was very cross at having to stand in the cold and wait for the parade, she grumbled and grumbled, once the Marching Band went past she said to her other half, well thats it, thats what we stood in the cold for, come on lets move, and off they went
After the parade, we decided to head back and change to go to Epcot, we walked down Main Street and I had my last look at the castle and say goodbye from near Caseys, it is a mad habit of mine that I refuse to look back at the castle after that point, I always say goodbye to the park as I pass through by the railway station, but I'm always too scared too turn around and look at the castle in case I turn into a gibbering wreck, oh well as Ian always tell me, 50 more years, although I think it is more like 46 now.
Back to the resort, and a quick change, I give in and put my boots on before heading to Epcot, and dinner at The San Angel Inn, again somewhere we had never eaten before, we both of course have a maragarita which is very good, Ian gets the Sopa Azteca and I have the salad, we both follow those with a beef dish the name escapes me, I looked on All Ears and its not on there, this was a nice meal, the restaurant wasn't part of our original plans, but we both wanted to go back to Epcot as we had missed Illuminations the night before and this was more or less the only restaurant we could get in at. I don't know if we would go back here, probably not, but it was nice to try it and we both enjoyed.
We got a spot near Mexico for Illuminations and it was amazing as ever, the holiday ending had been taken away by now though, and we had noticed several times in both MK and Epcot today that they were starting to take the decorations down. After Illuminations it was back to Saratoga for a few drinks.
I'm not going to do a last day, it was the usual packing, Downtown Disney check in and then the flight home and horrid drive from Gatwick to South Wales, so nothing too thrilling to read about it.
To sum it all up, it was the most perfect of holidays, at the perfect time of year, yes it was cold some days, but we were also lucky to get it nice and hot on others. I had the blues like I have never had when we got home, I can truly say it was our best time ever. Would we do it again - yes indeedy, we are flying out of Bristol on the 12th December and have three nights at Port Orleans French Quarter, before four nights at Saratoga, two nights at Universal and thirteen nights back at Saratoga. We will be doing the dining plan again for the last thirteen nights of our trip. The planning has commenced, the menus are being looked at and I cant wait for my first Rita
Thanks all for reading, I have made a little video, and if I could figure out how on earth to post it I would do
