fan in the room...

we are family of 4 that all sleep with a 19" box fan in our rooms. Any suggestions on what to do while we are at Disney? We are staying at CSR. It is going to be hard enough having sleep in the same room as our 15 and 17 year olds, let alone not being able to sleep because there is no fan. We are flying so I can't pack a large fan very well in a suitcase. Thanks.

All the moderates have ceiling fans. Would that work for you?

We always take one of those smaller fans that make a lot of wind noise. That way we have the noise and we are able to ship it down in the box that we UPS to the hotel.

We need our fans, too! The louder, the better. Nothing else really does the trick. We tried going one night without (when at the Poly last year) and got very little sleep...never knew my daughter made so many noises at night!!! My husband left in the rental van our second day and bought one somewhere. He was gone a very long time, but we slept great the rest of the trip. I also tried earplugs for the first time and they helped. I think it would be totally worth sending a fan down ahead of time, if possible. I am probably going to do that this year. We also fly, so we just left the fan for housekeeping our last morning...she was thrilled to have it!

Nice to know we're not the only ones with this problem!

We have (had) a small fan that we could pack in a suitcase that lets us sleep peacefully no matter where we are. That thing has been to Maine, WDW, N.C. and I don't know where else. This last summer, we bought a few too many souvenirs and had to leave it behind for housekeeping , along with the laundry detergent for anyone else in the laundry room that needed it and the 1/2 case of water for the housekeeper too. Maybe I shouldn't buy so much while in WDW? Nah......
