For those of you that have used the Fan Club discount in the past.

Has anyone out there been asked the name of the company they work for, when they check in to the hotels?

They don't even ask to see the Fan Club card usually. If they do you are safe saying your local hospital or county government.

we just checked in Portofino on last friday.... did not even ask to see the card :) amy

I originally booked my rate with the fan club card and I said now I have to find it again. She told me they do not even ask for it anymore and that there was nothing on her screen advising me that I would need it. I guess they always tell you when you book if you need to show proof of membership or whatever discount you have.

Anyone out there happen to know if postal employees are enrolled in the FAN club program? I just thought about that last night when I read this thread & will have DH check at work, but alot of the human resources business is automated & trying to get answers to questions can take forever!

why don't you go and sign up at themouseforless.com website?
one of the benefits is the universal fan club card.
i got it there and used it last year.
this year we are told you only need the number as cards are no longer being issued.

themouseforless is a site on wdw and other things.

raven::yes::

Okay, I went to themouseforless, signed up, but then I couldn't find any info on the Fan Club Card. Where do I find this?

Anyway, it looks like a great site that I will definitely be visiting. Can't believe that after all these years of searching the internet for WDW info, that I haven't happened upon it before. :confused3
Thanks for the info.

tarheelmjfan,
If you look down the list on the left side of the page, you'll see a heading Member Savings, then halfway down the list is Group Discounts....click on that & you'll see Universal Fan Club as one of the discounts. Hope that helps! :sunny:

The good news is, I found the fan club link. :D The bad news is, that I don't use Yahoo. We use AOL. I guess you could call me computer illiterate, when it comes to anything except internet research, and a few basic programs. I wouldn't even know how to check an email account on Yahoo. Thanks for trying to help. :wave2:

you can check the mail with aol. many on this yahoo group do.
i found the dis boards from the mouseforless site two years ago. that site used to be called dollarless disney but they changed it to the current one in january.

once you are a member of mouse for less you can go through the archives and get loads of info.

in the members section for club benefits you can print off an $8 coupon for tickets for universal/ioa. it lists the tickets for hollywood univ stu but it is valid for the orlando one. be sure to copy the group id number in case you use the fan club for anything at universal. you can go to that same site and copy off the mouse for less card that verifies you have membership. you fill in your own name on that.

also, many discounts for towncars, mears, limo companies for florida.

if you have any questions, email me.

you wouldn't need to use yahoo email. You can opt to receive it through your own email or opt not to receive any email and read the info on their website

My online reservation said this about the FAN Club rate:

'UO FAN CLUB DISCOUNT RATES
MUST PRESENT VALID FAN CLUB ID UPON CHECK IN'

i know it is listed on the loews ressie on line center to present the card upon check in, but they do not ask to see it.

univ. fan club has gone paperless. i printed out themouseforless card and have used that to show my fan club membership .

i have used the fan club before and have not been asked to see it.

don't know what else to tell you.
raven

try one of the boards at universal resort/parks as there was discussion about the card previously going on there.

Regarding "mouseforless" I have been trying for months to think of a legitimate way to get a Fan Club Card. My employer doesn't offer it. I saw people buying it on E-Bay and a very nice lady forwarding them from this board. That's why it shocks me to find out all you had to do was go to this website and print out the ID card. You don't even really have to sign up; but I did. Is this truly a legitimate Fan Club Card? It seemed too easy. Anyone out there know for sure?

why don't you go to the site mouseforless.com and contact the website owner, Binnie with that question?
she is the one that gets the sponsors and set up the universal fan club for its members.
she would be able to answer all your questions and relieve your fears.
hope this helps.

When I made my reservation for August I was asked for the fan club number and the name and address of employer.

Actually, the card you can "print out" is the mouseforless membership card. Once you join and your membership is approved you will be able to access the info for Universal Fan Club--which they state is now "paperless." You CAN request a Universal Hollywood Fan club card if having something physical makes you feel better. Otherwise, they give you a group number for Universal Fan club. But again, you can only access this # after your membership has been approved.

Thank you for responding. That does make me feel better and I definitelywill be pursuing the discounts. Thanks to all for the great info.

I am trying to join the Mouseforless club, but don't see where to do it. I signed up for the Yahoo mail, but that didn't do it.
