Fan Club...Has anyone been asked to confirm employment at checkin?

Familyof14--if you signed up for the email, you did the right thing. You will get an email, either confirming or denying your membership. (can't imagine why they would deny) Once you are approved you will be able to access the fan card info. HTH

I received the email for my Yahoo confirmation, but I was still listed as a non-member. I then found a link to join the Mouseforless club. I am awaiting confirmation now. Thanks!

Did you get the initial e-mail response that says "List - Pending Membership"? I did, and it said "THIS LIST is not accepting new members at this time." Did it mean the old name of Dollarless Disney? If not, I've been shunned, lol.

the list owner binnie has stated before there is a 24 hour wait period before membership.
i have never known anyone denied and i have been on that board for 3 years.
dollarless disney was the old name, the sites new name you have,themouseforless.

OK, I have been approved. So much for the 24 hour thing.

Which iIhadn't signed up though. I had 13 emails from MFL. I was afraid to open some as they looked like spam.

Under your user profile (at the mouseforless yahoo group page) you can opt to receive NO emails and just read posts on the web page. That is what I did.

Here is what my email from them said to do if you don't want email:

To set your messages to "no mail," simply go to the main

Membership" in the upper right corner of the page OR send a blank

OUCH. I still haven't heard back. Looks like I didn't get in. I'll wait a little longer and then I may re-submit. I swear I take showers, lol. (once a week whether I need it or not)

I was able to turn off the email offers last night. That was scary!
Now I have to go see about getting my FAN Club card.

OK, I sent off an email to the person that I am suppose to ask about FAN Club info through Mouseforless. The following is past of an email I received back:

If you send me a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope I will mail you the Fan Club card

We leave in 9 days, so I am almost certain that we will not be able to exchange mail that quickly. All that trouble for nothing.

family of 4, email binnie at mouseforless and ask her to email you the card numbers. all the numbers are the same that are assigned to this website.

then, print off the official mouseforless membership card. you sign your name on it.
you have the website card and the fan club number that is assignedto that organization.
that should do the trick.
i have used my fan club card many times over and have not once in three years been asked to show it.

Well, I was rejected for the Mouseforless list. I absolutely cannot figure out why. I have NEVER done anything inappropriate on any board. How humiliating. Macraven: you can no longer say you don't know of anyone ever being rejected.

i don't know everything but can't imagine someone as nice as you getting disapproval. that's just not right........

Yahoo said the decision was final and that they do not make these decisions. The moderator did and that I am more than welcome to try to join other yahoo groups. No thanks. I feel totally slapped in the face. (In 5 year old tone: they can just take their silly old list and I'm going home, lol)

My husband thinks I am crazy and overreacting. I'm just hoping my sweet little stepsons, age 16 and 22, aren't going into anything inappropriate at 3:00 in the morning, lol. Or my husband for that matter. I would kill him, lol.

BTW: really appreciated the computer hug - made me laugh out loud; I can't believe how a grown woman could get so upset over something like this, lol. I'm talking about me.

I wonder if it is because you put something about getting a fan card?? I said something like "I heard about your group on the Disboards. I love all things Orlando and always want to learn more. I would love to join your group."

I just don't know....again very strange. Honestly, the only thing I can think of is the part about getting a card. Maybe it made them think you were only joining for that?? Just a shot in the dark...

I really am sorry. But, hey, you don't really need the physical card. Just print off their membership card like macraven said. Since Universal Fan Club is now paperless (meaning no physical card) just show them "who" you are affiliated with.
