Fan Club Card

Tink emailed me today and said my card would be in the mail Thursday and should arrive to me by Monday!
Which would mean I'll get my fan club card within a week of asking her for it. And 2 weeks before I leave.
Tinkerbarb is an awesome web board friend. I wonder just how many people she has helped? I bet a hundred at least?
I am so thankful. I'll post when I receive it.
Note: I will be out of town on business 6/20 - 6/26. So I'll post when I get back.

I just read through some of the past couple of pages of posts and you guys are cracking me up!!!
Reading about myself through other peoples posts is sooo strange. I guess I should tell you'all something about myself, since I sound like some mysterious wonder nut. HAHAHAHA
I'm a gorgeous single female (mid 30 something).
I've been divorced for about a year.
In that year, I've lost 75+ pounds.
I'm only a six-hour drive door to door to Disney and USO, so I go for long weekend trips at least once every three months or so.
I'm an Electrical Engineer and design AirCraft Carriers.
I am thinking about excepting a job with NASA, but it's in DC not in Cape Canaveral.
I created an Employees Discount program at my work place, and am our Club Director for all kinds of different things including Disney, USO, Busch Gardens, Six Flags, Carrowinds and so on.... Needless to say, you can guess that I'm heavily involved in our Recreation Committee (damn Christmas parties!!) and our Charity Challenge programs too.
I volunteer at the Make-A-Wish foundation of SC, and our local SPCA (shelter for animals).
OK the big news....
I'm gonna be a first time mamma!! I'm about to hit week 7, and have finally gotten over the shock of it all.
Here is something funny... I'm pretty sure I conceived right before my last trip to Disney and USO, so if you were one of the wonderful moderators I met at the Adventurers Club, you were part of my babies first trip to Orlando!!! I knew I should have stayed off the Hulk coaster.... damn upside down gravity.... and G-forces.... bet that's what did it!!! HEHEHAHAHA
So, that's me in a nutshell, and if you've met me, you know nut is right!!!

Tinkerbarb, CONGRATS on your good news. As i've posted in another section, i'm new to the group and going to Universal for the first time in July. I emailed you requesting a fan club card, and I'm relieved to know that you don't mind being asked. I was just wondering how that differs from an entertainment card and what the advantages are. Of course I don't have either. My reservation is for July 17th at RPR, and I don't think that I've gotten the best rate. We're booked for a standard waterview room. I'm hoping that I can get more data and save myself a little money. Any help would be appreciated

I wish lots of health for your baby; I know it will have lots of happiness......
The Entertainment Card is the one you get with that big thick coupon book which a lot of churches/nonprofit groups/even rotary clubs sell. I think it runs about $25 and has a humango amount of coupons. The Fan Club card is specific to Universal Studios and the associated area. Somtetimes some of the hotels have a slightly lower rate for one card over the other.

9/11 all but wiped out any comps or freebies locals can get now, but if you have any Vegas questions, I'd love to help (that goes for anybody on the boards, too!!!)

Wow I just read the post about your life and you ARE busy!!
I hope everything goes wonderfully for your first pregnancy! I was tired and nauseous pretty much my whole 9 mos (both pregnancies)! Ugh.
I was wondering if I could have 2 Fan cards. I am going to Universal this August (first time!) and the Fan rates are the best I've seen!

Just wanted to chime in that I REALLY appreciate the info I have gotten on this site.
This is a huge BLESSING for those of us not familiar with UO

I received my fan club card in the mail yesterday. Thank you so much. Your kindness touches my heart. I will be sure to return the kindness to someone I meet this week. Thank you again.

I will send you a pm about how to get a Fan club card when you get there. The problem is that it will be too late for your hotel. I might suggest investing in a AAA membership. If you are staying on US property, the FOTL pass is nice. I would suggest getting the FC card, then waiting in line to get a low end AP. If you are going to go more than 1 day, the $110. is worth it....
