Famous People You have met While at WDW

I "literally" ran into Scotty Bowman in the Lobby. Me, DH, DS (then 1.5), and DM were coming out of Dinner at the Cape May Cafe. DH, DM and DS we walking slowly (as 1.5 yr olds do) and I was pushing the stroller. It was a little crowded (People waiting to be seated, etc) so I went a head of the crowd to try and get out of the way. I ran the stroller right into Scotty's legs. I looked at him, said omg, went back to DM and DH. Took the baby from DH and a paper and pen from DM and went got his autograph and DS/Me oicture taken with him.

I just realized my wife and I are too obsessed with Disney because I asked her who her fav celebrity she would like to meet at Disney was and her answer was Malificent or Tinkerbell. I have to agree I would be much more excited getting our photos and autos of them or Darth Vader and storm troopers than Brad, Jolie, and even Harrison Ford and Julia Roberts. I guess we really are obsessed with the characters.

i just got back from disney yesterday and our last meal was at whispering canyon. They yelled out that a table needed cayons so i go over to the table give the crayon and go back to my seat. My aunt was at another table went over but did not come back. then she comes back and says they guy from reading rainbow is at that table. or star trax or roots what is his name well he came over to the table cause my aunt asked him if he was that person and it was a great laugh to see her red in the face.

YES! That was Lavar Burton. We saw him too. Last night we ate at Artist Point, and he was there with his wife. (Star Trek, Roots). I remember him short, but he was tall and, I'm afraid, older! But I guess so am I!!!

how funny we had a blast at whisping canyon. we where so loud and enjoyed it. it was a magic time for us.

So glad you had a great time at WL. It is a beautiful resort, isn't it? I got a kick out of the Easter baskets the CM's were making up in the gift shop. How cool is that?!

ya i wanted one i went by and told my parents in a child whiny voice i want an easter basket. and im 33 lol

Yes, I am in a bit of a panic! Ben is almost 8, and I thought maybe he's like figured out, well, you know...

So, yesterday he asks me if tomorrow night the Easter bunny will be here. Gulp. I HAVE NOTHING! So, I am scrambling. Almost tempted to stop in at WL to see what they can make up for me. Did you notice what they have in there?

Sorry, I know, off topic. But, HELP!:offtopic:

Well, it was so many years ago, I think in '95. My dh and I were waiting in line at Whispering Canyon to put in our ressie. There was a woman with a small boy over her shoulder. My dh couldn't pass up making funny faces at him in line, playing peek-a-boo, whatever! ;) Anyway, since he was making the boy laugh, the mom eventually turned around....it was Vanna White!!!!!!!!! My dh was soooo red! :) :) :) :) I thought it was hysterical.

In 1999 I saw Christie BRinkley and "Earth, Wind and Fire" at the restaurant at the Boardwalk..I forget the name!!!!

Last year I saw Greg Lloyd at DD Rainforest! To those of you who dont know him, he was a Pittsburgh Steeler in the 90's. Being a diehard Steeler fan, I was star struck!! :)

On our trip last month we saw Kevin Bacon at the airport in Chicago. Wasn't exactly at Disney but we were on our way to Disney. Man is he thin!!!!

I remember on one of our family trips (early 90s) my dad and I had a very brief conversation with Michael Eisner while he was waiting for his limo to pull up at the Grand Floridian.. his favorite resort!

While walking through Epcot this past January, my wife noticed Ace Young as he was walking past us. My wife asked him if she could get a picture...to which his security escort said he was late for an appointment...to which Ace ignored and stopped anyway to let her get a picture. I thought that was very cool of him.

Not sure if I've posted here already, but we saw Wayne Brady in October 2003 in Epcot. He was filming some preliminaries before his live show the following week.

A couple of summers ago we saw Chris Rock he was staying with his family at AKL. My sister didn't believe me until she saw on TV he was there celebrating his daughter's birthday.

hey Dis'ers I thought it would be cool to start a thread where we could all share tales of celbrities we have seen or met while at the world!!! ::MickeyMo

I'll start:

I met Raven Scimone waiting in line for The Voyage of the Little Mermaid. She was still all the Cosby show so she was still a little girl...but I had her sign in my autograph book. How ironic that years later she became a Disney girlie ::MinnieMo

how about you? :listen:

i also got to meet Raven Symone in Disney but she was alot older (like turning 19 i think) and she had an interview cuz she preformed in the Disney Christmas parade and after her interview she went to a meet-and-greet and me and my friends were yelling her name and i got her autograph and a picture =D

That's so funny! I saw Raven when she was there taping the parade, too! Was it like, 2003?

Here's the folks I've seen/met while on Disney Property.. (it doesn't include people who I paid to see perform ie, at House of Blues, Pleasure Island, Night of Joy or Grad Night)

When I was younger, in the 80's we saw Betty White filming at Epcot... Italy, or France, I can't remember.

We saw both Isaiah Thomas (basketball? from Detroit, I think) and Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea Zuckerman, original Beverly Hills 90210) put their hands in cement at Studios.

I was there for the Christmas Parade and saw Wayne Brady, Clay Aiken, Raven, Kyle Massey, Christy Carlson Romano and that other girl from That's So Raven; Jump5 and that kid from Brother Bear.

I got to meet Michael Phelps and two other Olympic swimmers the summer of 2000, after his first amazing feet of winning gold, and was provided with the most amazing sight at Disney *EVER* ---- The sight of Michael Phelps, shirtless, walking down Main Street... O.M.G.
(clicky to make biggy)

Let's see.. we also saw Curt Schilling after the Red Sox won the World Series.

I rode on the monorail from Epcot and then to MK with Lou Perlman and whatever gaggle of boy banders he was developing at the time. (they followed me, btw -- I just happen to like riding in fairly empty cars and will walk to one end or the other to do so)

and in the same vein, we also saw Johnny Wright with a woman once at DAK.

I think that's almost everyone at WDW.

Last year when I went to DL for the first time, I saw Ryan Caberra.. although I will admit that I didn't remember his name when I saw him. LOL... I had to ask a friend to figure it out by describing him and who he may or may not have dated once.. It was kinda humorous!

and then.. the coolest ever. (and possibly embarassing)

I got to meet Julie Andrews, and then was promptly scolded by her!! I like to tell the story as "I was scolded by Mary Poppins!"

See.. she was at the bookstore in HS, and was signing copies of her childrens books one morning. I went over with my friend who's a HUGE Julie fan, and she had gotten to the park just a little before me, so she went and bought her book and got her wrist band, and then I arrived about 5 minutes later. That meant there were a few people in between us in line. (we had to buy the books and get the bands at opening, and then come back at like, noon, and line up by the number to get in)
So, after we did that, we went to grab breakfast and she paid with her credit card. When she signed, she signed her full name and it takes FOREVER cause she has a really long name like, Stephanie Elizabeth MacGillicudy (not her real name ) So, I teased her and harassed her about it.. Finally it was time to line up and meet Julie.. We did, and she went in first and came out (it was one person at a time in the store) -- then my turn. When I approached, Julie was pleasant and polite, just as you might expect, and we chatted, and I don't remember what was said, or how we ended up here, but then she said, "Gosh, I can't believe I'm signing my whole name, this is taking forever!" (Her full name is Julie Andrews Edwards) and so I just blurted out "OH my gosh! I was just teasing my friend about doing that same thing just today" and she looked up, and gave me a classic disappointed look and said, "One should NEVER tease a friend! That is just a mean and nasty thing to do!"

Yes, Mary Poppins.

So I went out and told my friend, and she laughed. I asked her if she said something, and to this day she swears she didn't!!
