family vent - Why is it

that of my family, my EX-mil is the one that calls me every day or comes over to ask how I am and if she can do anything for me. I've called my dad a few times to do a little running around for me. He acted like I was imposing on him.
My sister hasn't called since wednesday.


To backtrack for those that don't know already. My car is broke down and getting worked on and my foot is too. I can't use either.

Anyway, my daughter that goes to school an hour away, came all this way to help. My dad lives about a mile away and is too busy. no he doesn't work.

It's just interesting learning the people you can count on and learning the ones you can't. I wish I could say I was surprised.

Ok, vent over.
At least I do have some people that I can count on. And I will make sure they know how much I appreciate it.

Have you actaully asked your Dad to do something specific? Some people, myself included, just aren't good at figuring out how to help people. I don't like to impose, so a lot of times I am thinking of someone & wondering what can I do. It could easily be interperted as not caring.

Yeah, I don't ask him for general stuff. The last time I called him was to run to Subway for me. With my money, and my kid to order.
He acted like I was imposing. I told him that I didn't care when that evening he went, but I was tired of peanut butter and jelly. He got mad and came right away, he honked out front instead of coming in.
I haven't heard from him since. Not even to ask how I am. This was thursday.
