I know these are verrrry loooong -- husband says I am a frustrated novelist. I think I have a long way to go before my novel!
Friday, January 20.
DGD slept well and woke up feeling much better. Breakfast and medicine. Then just relaxing in room. We made beds and played with her Polly Pocket dolls. Also some TV, stickers, reading, movie watching, etc. The weather was sunny and was much warmer than it had been. Yes! DGD and I walked over to HH (this is not the same little girl we had to practically drag through Epcot and MK on previous days). She was skipping, bouncing, etc. We ordered lunch from Goods to Go. A sand pail lunch for her (hot dog and fruit), which comes in a cute plastic sand pail with a shovel. She ate pretty well, but we took remaining fruit back with us. GPA decided to join us, too. After which, back to room for resting as doctor ordered. At least GPA took a short nap in the afternoon, but DGD and I had more energy than that, so the two of us sat on our little porch and played Pollies and watch the ducks, etc.
After our rest we decided to drive over to Downtown Disney for some shopping. Not too strenuous. Packed a bag with essentials like some warmer clothes for DGD in case we stayed past dark. Wandered the area and got some cute pictures. At the big toy store, GPA helped DGD fill a box with accessories and costumes for her Pretty Ponies. She just loved that. And then we had to make sure to call her mom to tell her to make sure and put a Pretty Pony into the suitcase (we explained it was not necessary to buy another, as she has so many.) Then some ice cream while resting on a bench in the sunshine. And since she was feeling quite good, we decided to give Epcot a whirl.
Drove to BW and walked through and over to Epcot. We realized that this was an Extra Hours night for Epcot and said we would see how things went and maybe stay a little later. We did SSE again still loved it. Then on to Ellens Energy Adventure and she liked that, too. Over to the Electric Umbrella for a bite to eat. Chicken fingers, etc. (Are you catching on to the title of this piece?) Got wrist bands for the Extra Hours. We looked at the electronic board to see if Soarin had any FPs available, but there were none. So, back to International Showcase to Mexico for the boat ride and some cute pictures with big hat. Over to Norway for that boat ride, but not happy with that one. The trolls got to her. But she loved posing with the Viking helmet and the large, carved troll. Came out just as fireworks were about to start. I stepped into the bakery for large sweet pretzels for breakfast and when I came out the show had started.
As it turns out, DGD is still not sure about fireworks, especially as these are really loud and close. So, we made our way back to International Gateway. By the way, we are strollering it. A boat was loading at that exit and we rode that back to Boardwalk. Made GPA go to get the car while we waited. Sat on the oversize love seat in the vestibule of Boardwalk and the CM from DVC came over to us and had a sweet conversation with DGD, admiring the pins on her lanyard and I am quite sure traded with her, then gave her some special stickers. A nice Magical Moment.
Back to OKW and getting ready for bed and medicine, etc. A good day and DGD much herself animated and bouncy and fun. Thank you, God!
Day 5 coming up!
