Not been on these boards for awhile ... its no fun when you dont have a trip booked

My Son has recently been diagnosed with a life limiting condition and we have been given money by a Charity to put towards a Holiday of a LIFETIME! We have not taken him since August 2009 and he was only 18 months at the time so didn't take much of it in and his condition was not known.

Is February a good time to go? We are looking to go 5th Feb for two weeks as Charlies birthday is on the 7th and what way to spend your 4th Birthday! What are the crowds/weather like at this time of the year?

We just got what i think is an excellent price of £8,800 for a 4a 3c package staying at SS in a 2 bed villa with free dining, park tickets, mini van and platinum insurance flying from LGW. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibe

So egar to book but this holiday needs to be perfect! I am also a bit worried flying so far with all of Charlies equipment, he has a special needs buggy, a sats monitor, bed alarm, o2 canister, helmet, car seat ... he will need a plane to himself!

Thanks in advance

So sorry you are going under these circumstances but so pleased you will have an amazing family holiday. Buzzforboys will give you all the practical info as she has been through the same difficulties and is another inspirational Mum.

You will have an amazing trip whatever time of the year you decide to go.

We went in february 2009 and the weather is hit and miss. You can get historic weather - i'm sure someone will have the link. We were very lucky and had six days of warm weather(shorts and t shirts although the locals were in jeans and sweaters and thought we were mad). The final day though was cold - even a frost first thing and the water was causing so much condensation the lakes looked like something out of a horror film. We had anoraks but wished we had hats and gloves too so pack for all eventualities.

Not sure if you will be there for Presidents day which is a bank holiday in the USA about Mid-February but that day was mad in the parks so it may be a day to have some relaxation time.

If all our plans go ahead we will be at WDW in October and if you are familiar with the fairy godmailer (on families part of disboards) we would be very happy to be the fairygodmailer for all the kids in your family - just pm me if we can help. :goodvibes:

meant to add that the rest of our trip other than presidents day the parks were very quiet - much more so than October :)

We have been twice in February and enjoyed it, although the weather is not always warm.

Hope you have fun with your planning:thumbsup2

Low crowds but also low temperatures.

Our February visit resulted in Hat, scarf and gloves, but the weather can be so hit and miss in Florida. We once wore thermals at Seaworld in October :confused3
