Okay, so we've checked in. What next? Oh yes check out the rooms. We walk across the footbridge to Parterre Place, our preffered area. 2 nice rooms,on the corner, upper floor, nice and quiet in the first building.Drop the bags and decide to take the ferry to DTD to try and stay awake. No problem staying awake on this trip as it is full of chanting cheerleaders
and their louder mothers. If it wasn't for the death penalty in Florida I could have easily thrown one of the mothers overboard. I think her husband would have helped me. We have been many times in early December and know that the cheerleaders will be there for the first few days, but this year they seemed more OTT than usual. This was the only time we encountered them in full cheerleader mode.
Walking around DDIL was surprised and amazed by everthing she saw.Came to my favourite shop in the market place,Ghiradellis, the banana split had to wait
getting tired by now head back to POR,unpack and collapse into bed.
Wed 5th
Next morning we are up early,as always on the first day breakfast in the food court and on to the bus to Epcot by 8am join the queue until 8.30 when we go through and wait by innoventions until park opening, where we follow the flight crew to Soarin. This is a favourite of ours and once ridden DS and DDIL are hooked. We stay at this side of the park and check out Imagination,Honey I Shrunk the Audience,The Living Seas and Crush. By now the World Showcase is open so we wander through and just seem to drift along, not doing anything much, just getting the feel and enjoying the sunshine in the 80s. We exit the park via the International Gateway and catch a ferry to the Boardwalk. Once there we are sidetracked by a wedding,
Cinderellas Coach, team of horses and footmen, the full works. The two experts among us thought the brides dress was really nice but DW and DDIL thought it was rather plain considering all the effort with everything else. We walked through to the bus stop as we had to go to DTD as we had arranged to pick up our car at Dollars LBV location.
We picked up our Chrysler Town and Country and headed off up towards the Palm Parkway to Turkey Lake Road to the K Mart just past the crossroads with Sand Lake Road as DS needed some shorts. We passed a new Wal Mart on the way making a note we must call there some time. Then we leave the big K and head over to Publix for supplies, essentials really: beer, wine,do nuts, and other stuff. On the way back we stop off at the Red Lobster at Crossroads for dinner, then make our way back to POR passing my favourite fire station.
