I know it wouldn't happen, but a package with a family suite, depending on the resort, would cost the same or more than a moderate room. Why can't Disney recognize that and offer the regular DDP for free dining in that case? It just seems unfair! LOL - you know I want to go and stay in a suite, right? Even though the upgrade isn't a terrible cost, it would be nice if I didn't have to pay it.

Now to decide if we want to consider a December trip!!

On the outside it may look like a value but in the pocket book it is NO value.

I agree. I could understand if they wanted to limit the number but still.

I think the point is that you can get free dining for up to what..... 6 people per suite? So potentially a discount of close to $200 per room with the QSDP. With free dining especially, unlike any other promotion, since the suites accommodate more people, the discount is already greater.

Suites at any other resort are not entitled to any discount at all. It's nice that Disney includes the suites at the value resorts in any discount program IMO.

I agree.

We will have 4 in an AOA suite next summer. We're paying more for the room but will have to upgrade from the lower dining plan (have the deluxe dining) instead of the middle plan,if free dining comes out.

It just doesn't seem right. Oh well, we just have to deal with it.

I do think it will be interesting to see if they are able to keep the suites in that resort full. If not, you could see some different types of discounts applied there.

Do keep in mind though that you're getting a lot more space for your money. Don't they take up the footprint equal to 2 value rooms? That sounds very appealing. We're just never in the room enough to justify spending any more than the mnimum. We're mostly "open to close" parks types.

I can book a free dining ft wilderness cabin on disneys website at the same price as my cars pkg which includes the upgraded dining plan or a suite at asmu for a $40/night less. Shouldn't it be more to sat in a mod suite and the same as another value suite? Aoa is being priced like a mod without the perks.

Yes the same space as two value rooms, but my 12 night pkg is only $300 less than getting TWO rooms with fd at pofq

I agree with you. The discount is already potentially bigger for people in a Family suite. There is nothing "unfair" about it :confused3.

I didn't price this out on the website, but can't u get fd for up to four in a value room? The suites cost more than two rooms, so six instead of eight people is less of a potential discount, no?

Then stay in a mod! Personally, I would choose 2 rooms at POFQ for a mere $25 more per night. Your 3-year old won't give a hoot where s/he stays and your adults will be much more comfortable sleeping on queen beds instead of pull out couches and murphy beds. Plus, there is a hot tub and water slide at POFQ and none at AoA. Lastly, I enjoy the values ... I really do ... but I would go crazy with all the giant icons and bright colors for more than a few days. I would much prefer 12 relaxing days at POFQ.

I agree. I got outvoted by the family. I'm happy either way, but I do think disney's math is off.

I totally agree with you. We have a family of 5. I will not be paying the prices to stay at AoA suites when I can stay at POR for almost $1000 less. That is ridiculous!

I must admit that I've never really thought about it, but it only makes sense that family suites be included in the regular DDP.

AGREE AGREE AGREE!!! We are booked for an AoA suite, which is almost as much as a deluxe room. I definitely think we should get the regular free dining. FD isn't even saving us that much-maybe like $300. We are considering cancelling our trip for Nov and hoping for a PIN or % discount for spring. I think it's ridiculous.

I don't see why people believe that the amount of money they are spending on a hotel room makes a bit of difference. The type of free dining offered is associated with the class of resort, not the price of the room. Disney finally offers an value suite option for larger families and includes it in the free dining promotion all people do is complain :confused3.

True. I could stay (assuming it was included) in a suite at a deluxe, club level, theme park view, and I'm still not getting free deluxe dining, only regular dining.
