Our family of soon to be 7 will consist of 2 adults, 4 kids and a baby on our next trip. Would we be better off in a family suite at the ASMU or in 2 conjoining rooms at another value resort?

IMO, I would go with two rooms with double beds in each room unless the expense is too much. I believe I read that if you have more children than adults you would be garanteed cojoining rooms.

Just an FYI:
Disney does NOT guarentee conecting rooms for families if there are two or more adults in the party because the adults can be split up between the two rooms.

The Family Suites at All Star Music will sleep up to 6 persons.

They:

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)
-Studio amenities and separate sleeping areas giving more privacy than a standard room.
-Queen bed, full-size pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers (4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have 27” flat CRT TV and high speed internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
-Two-full bathrooms
-Cost less than a standard room at AKL or WL

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

last time we were down, we asked for a tour of the family suites at ASMu and were graciously shown the suite. We loved it. I even played with all the fold outs to make sure of comfort! We have 2 teens and 2 toddlers youngest soon to be 3 so our days of one room seemed numbered but the suite is a great option. suites have that little kitchen too which is a huge plus for a family with little ones. I vote suites. only DVC studios offer anything comparable. We were able to stay duluxe last time (5 and one under 3) and the fridge and micro were great with kids. jmo.

and it is true, you could get seperated with 2 adults in party. only gaurentee is if only one adult in party.
