Family Portraits

Going on a Family Trip in Oct. My MIL wants a family portrait (w/ the castle in the background). She thinks that the Kodak shop on Main Street would do that. She wants professional pictures.

Where can we get our pictures taken? Studio?
In the parks? Outside the parks?
Definitely want a Disney background if in studio?
What the cost?
How many copies are made?

Yes - the service is available. From what I was told, you can have photos taken before the parks open in the morning. You can also have them taken at any of the resorts. I don't know the cost, but I would guess it to be pretty pricey. We were expecting to spend about $600-$700 on the photos. I'm only guessing on that number, but that is in line with other professional sessions we've investigated.

You should call Disney Photographic Services at 407-827-5099. If for some reason that number doesn't get you through (it's been about 9 months since I last called it), then I'd suggest contacting the people who coordinate the Disney wedding packages. They can surely put you in touch with the Disney photographers.

I have several photos from previous trips to the world.They cost around $15 and you can get more for an extra charge but what I have done if I want more copies is take them to Walmart and make my own there! Muuuuuuuuuch cheaper!!! I made copies at Wally World for alot of our family memebers at a fraction of the price for extras at WDW!!!

Most mornings, and we've even had it done in the afternoon, in each park there are photographers roaming around the entrances.They usually have bright blue shirts on.They'll stop and ask you, or you can stop them, if you'd like a picture taken.In MK the castle is in the back ground...MGM we have the Mickey's hat...AK Tree of Life...Epcot Space Ship Earth.

The pictures we had taken 2 years ago at EPCOT the photographer took several poses of DH and our 2 boys and one of just the boys...it is sooooo cute,I have it here on my desk! These pictures from EPCOT are very professional.No one but our family in the pictures...I really like them.

Anyway the photogarpher will then give you a number and a time to pick up your pictures at the Kodak Center in that park.You can buy all the pictures or none if you don't like them!

If you don't see any of these photographers roaming around go into the photo center in the park and see how you can get one,they'll be more than happy to help you... especially if you tell them it's for your MIL!!!!

We are using the Disney Photographer for our pictures at WS. This isour first time so I can't comment on the services yet but we were given a price of $275 for 1 hour with the photographer at a location of our choice. We keep all the proofs and get to chose pictures from them like proofs for a wedding package. Give them a call at the # that Disney Princess 6 provided and ask for details.Good luck!

You might want to check about copying professional photographs at Walmart. Many professional photographs - if they have the name of the photographer stamped on the back (like the ones taken on our Carnival cruise) are copyrighted and other places are not allowed to make copies (unless you can find a friendly Walmart employee who will look the other way). When I got ready to pay for my copies, she took them and said she couldn't let me have them because they were copyrighted. Bummer!

I was afraid of that, too, but I looked on the ride photos and there was nothing.,,, so, I took them to the counter at Walmart and they said no problem.
The weird thing was that I could make all the copies I wanted of my Splash Moutain ride photos, but the FREE Halloween picture Disney took during MNSSHP and mailed to my house, Walmart wouldn't let me copy. She said no because it was on Kodak Professional Paper. hmmm

Just make copies at home. If you have a nice printer and with the right paper it looks great!
