I know that there our professional photograpers on site that can be retained for weddings and also for grand gatherings, but does anyone know if they will do a session for a family picture?

Has anyone heard of this or done this and any opinions on your experiences and how you went about reserving this and is it very expensive.. any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again!

This blurb appeared in today's All Ears Net weekly newsletter. Hope it helps.

Individual portrait sessions are now available at Disney's Grand
Floridian Resort & Spa for those who desire a more one-on-one
photo experience during their Walt Disney World vacation. A
Disney PhotoPass photographer will escort you or your group
through some of the Grand Floridian's most picturesque
backdrops. Consultations are available prior to the shoot to
discuss wardrobe, session location and theme options. Create a
portrait package that suits your needs with two current offers:
a single sitting ($49.95), and a package that includes a sitting
and a PhotoPass CD with all of the digital images taken by theme
park photographers during your vacation ($124.95). For more
information or to book a portrait session, visit Disney's
PhotoPass desk on the second floor of Disney's Grand Floridian
Resort & Spa, or call 407-824-1700.

Just FYI...

Another option is to contact Disney Photography Services directly and ask them about their options. I think you might get more professional results...

You can look at samples (and get contact information) here:

http://www.collages.net/disneyweddings/

Username: Disney Photography Samples
Password: 1971

you will be asked to enter your email address but they will NOT send any junk email.

When you get to the entrance page, you can look at various photography samples and the DPS contact info is near the bottom on the left hand side.

I never knew that we can do this. Might be a good idea for our vaction in Sept. I am wondering what the $24.95 package includes? Is it more then one sitting? What and how many pictures you get. TIA

Hiwaygirl...

Thank you for the info, I have looked at the samples and will make a call tomorrow.

From what you know can you tell me how these photographers differ from what is being offered in the photo shoot?

Thanks so much

Well, for one thing they're more expensive;) (And I understand how that alone can be a turn off)...

But, they can offer you a much wider choice of locations (not just the GF and grounds). I'm pretty sure you can also get some pics in the parks.

If I remember correctly, the Photopass folks are not necessarily professional photographers, just CM's with fancy cameras. The folks at DPS are professionals (some have gone off and started their own photography businesses in Orlando).

However, I think (but am not sure) that not too long ago DPS kind of took over the Photopass program. I don't know if that means that they are now training the CM's in photography skills or just taking over the "development" part of it (digital files, CD's, etc). I could be wrong about this part though.

Hope that helps!

Yes, that does help and I appreciate you taking the time to post your insight.

I am going to give them a call tomorrow to compare their services with this new service. True, the cost can be a trun off but we try to do family pictures once a year and it usually works well on vacation... smiling happy faces.. which also coincides with the twins 4th B'day this year.

Thanks again.

Best.

I have to say we got some awesome family pictures just from the photopass photographers in the parks this past summer. One photographer in particular was fantastic. My son and his girlfriend/fiance got engaged in the gazebo in the plaza rose garden near the castle. This photographer was taking pictures toward the castle but when we told him they'd like they're picture taken towards the gazebo and shared their happy news he really went out of his way taking pictures of them. He took posed pictures of my son reenacting the big moment on one knee down inside the gazebo! He took them up on the bridge and took pictures overlooking the gazebo. I couldn't believe how much time he spent with them! Those pictures are just priceless! Maybe you'll just get lucky, too, and won't have to spend a ton of money for a professional sitting! :)

I just took a look at the photo samples and personally, I think I could "pose" my family just as well and have someone else snap the pic with my own camera!

Thanks! This is fabulous! Do you know if we could get this with our regular Photopass CD or would it be an extra one?
