Family Photo Traditions?

My older brother and I have pictures with the Indian statues on Main Street and in Frontier Land dating back to 1986. I now have a 7 year old son and started the same tradition with him. They make great growth charts!:flower3:

We get DD's photo in front of Minnie's mail box each trip. She use to be nose to nose with it but of course is much taller now. Each child has their own horse on the carousel and we get their photo on that horse each trip...

We are looking forward to recreating photos on our December trip. Sword in the stone, the Star Wars speeder and CRT are probably our favorite photos of the kids from our previous visits.

When hubby and I were just dating, we had a friend snap our picture with the lagoon in the background near Canada - nothing real special about the spot, just where we were at the time. Ever since, we get our family's picture taken there, it's fun to see who is on the trip with us or how the family has grown from trip to trip.

When I was very young, my family took a picture outside of the Living Seas sign at Epcot. Of course, the Living Seas isn't there anymore, however every year since we've been back, we still get a picture in front of the Nemo sign that replaced the Living Seas sign.

  • Picking the trolls nose in Norway.
  • The Lego Dragon at Downtown Disney.
  • Pointing to their picture on the wall at the entrance to Epcot

My youngest likes to have her picture taken on the BW eating her corndog. It became sort of a silly tradition when she was 5. Now it is a must do every trip.

Haha! I've heard of people taking pictures over time with the same stuffed animal to show growth, but a corndog works! : )

We get pictures of the kids at the "Singin' in the Rain" umbrella and the snowman in HS pretty regularly. Other than that there's pictures of us scattered all around the parks.

we use the totem pole in the Wilderness Lodge as a growth chart for DD. She has had her picture in front of it every trip (16 in all). We started when she was 3:)

We go the week of Thanksgiving, So our tradition is in front of all the major Christmas trees (GF included)

We take one on the ferry heading to MK. Always by the large opening in the side.

We always make a point of getting photos from the kids riding Splash Mountain. Fun to see the changes over the years. The Star Wars speeders are always a photo ops too.

What are Star Wars Speeders? Forgive me, I myself am star wars ignorant, but my DS has recently discovered them so I must try to see whatever this and get apic! LOL

For some odd reason, I always get a picture with Dinosaur Gerti in it. I'm not really sure why.

I think when we start going with DD, I'll pick somewhere odd to photograph her and make a new tradition of photographing her there every time we go. Then, someday, we'll have a goofy retrospective of how she looked in the same space throughout her childhood.

The obscure ones are the best. There's a rock at the Beach Club pool where I photo-ed my girls when they were mostly all toddlers. Now they don't quite fit on the rock together- it's funny watching them overlap each other to try and get the pic.

The speeder(s) I think there's 2 are located across from the Jedi training academy and star tours entrance in DHS. They are full size models from return of the Jedi. Kids can climb up and get photos

Here's ours, kind of a right of passage... :)

Each year (and subsequent years), as our kids are tall enough to ride Rockin Roller Coaster, we get their photo sitting on the ledge in front of the HUGE guitar as you exit the ride, giving the "hang loose" sign. My oldest was the only one tall enough in 2010, and in 2012 my second daughter was, and this year will be my son.(as long as he's brave enough ;) ) Will be a fun photo to have all three!

yep. Those are the ones I mean.

I used to always get a picture at night of DS and DD walking down Main St. holding hands. I take the picture from the back, I actually like it best with the train station in the background instead of the castle. They really don't like doing it anymore, though, and this was my last one :(

EDIT: Well the picture didn't post...hmmm.
